  1. I would agree if this was about the first half and the early part of the 2nd half. But, then things rapidly changed. IU was playing against what may prove, again, to be an elite defensive team. One of the best teams, possibly, in the SEC. Big difference in what I saw was a possibly elite PG in Miles Rice. Quick, decisive, gets to the rim, distributes quickly, handles pressure well. Also, once Reneau got warm and he and Ballo played high/low, things started to click. Finally Mack shook off the rust and contributed. Defense got better and IU got the ball across the half court rapidly. Half of the 8 three point shots in the 2nd half were good. And Coach Woody did not platoon and pull the starters all at once. Not only did this look different, after lots of questions in the first half, but it looked light-years better to me. Holy Basketball, Batman! A point guard that is smart and quick and makes things happen and defends. Been yearning for this since...well...a bunch of seasons too numerous to count. And adjustments during the game that worked...and defensive focus. Pinch me.
  2. Indiana hosts the Marian Knights in an exhibition basketball game Friday night at 7 PM ET on BTN+. Pat Knight was announced as Marian's new head coach in May, 2024 and introduced by AD Steve Downing. Marian University Names Pat Knight as Men's Basketball Head Coach - Marian University Ind. Marian was voted to be 6th in the Crossroads League this season. Men's Basketball - Marian University Ind. Roster: 2024-25 Men's Basketball Roster - Marian University Ind. Now for the 'big' question: Will anyone subscribe to BTN+; or will you be watching a replay of a (yawn) exhibition game? Uh...dunno. The kicker is that on Sunday 11/10 Eastern Illinois visits IU and that, too, is on BTN+. I have words about this, too. Such a conundrum...upgrade my stash (of bourbon...) or buy BTN+... Actually, I have about 5 novels loaded on my e-reader. Plus, long-lost friend is visiting us this weekend. Things to do.
  3. IU by 4 with 10 seconds to go. Time out. TN ball....
  4. It is time to start playing team ball, team defense, get the loose balls, and go into and keep the lead. Refuse to lose.
  5. Hey it's early in the season. Maybe he will lead cheering from the bench.
  6. We have very few assists. Turnover rate is down. Technical Foul rate is down. Shooting percentage is up. Rebound rate is down. Defense is porous.
  7. Reneau looks slow out on the perimeter where a shooter should be.
  8. Mack needs to step up his game. 0 points? Fast break works. Our passing seems bad...partly because of TN defense...partly because our team is not moving without the ball. I don't understand the 3-point shooting bricks. And this may qualify me to be a coach for IU.
  9. No screening. No movement by some. No coming to the ball handler when double screened. No rebounds. Ball handling by Mgbako and Reneau is questionable to say the least. Would be nice to see someone, anyone, hit from out. Rusty? Yes. But it is October. Do like the feeds from Mgbako to Ballo. Do like Miles Rice. Do not want to see bigs out at the perimeter...what are Reneau and Ballo doing out at the 3-point area handling the ball? Someone pls explain the technicals.
  10. It is wonderful to see basketball with Indiana players, again. Miles Rice is smooth and knows what to do. Mgbako needs to hit the three. Ballo is a presence underneath...but should not dribble from the perimeter to go by a quicker defender. Defense looks ok at times. Then matadors.
  11. Found the game...event starting soon. I have Hulu + Live TV. Go to ESPN+, then scroll...
  12. I'm waiting to hit the lottery. I won once. Back in 1971, I won the Vietnam lottery and got into submarines. Really lucky. Submariners do it deeper and not up the Mekong. I'm still waiting for another big one. You may never hear from me again. But there will be signs.
  13. I have Hulu + Live TV and can search for and find SEC Network. If you do not have this service, try a trial period and cancel. Good luck. Will be watching. What a weekend of Indiana sports!!
  14. Peacock deals? Saw this add from June 2024: Get a year of Peacock for $19.99 - that’s 67% off! Use code STREAMTHEDEAL. And another add for military and/or students: Peacock: Stream Now | Start Your Subscription Today peacocktv.com https://www.peacocktv.com Military Offer on Peacock $2.99/mo for 12 months. And since I have a Samsung smart TV: To access Peacock on a Samsung Smart TV, you can: Ensure your TV model is supported by Peacock. Peacock is compatible with Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 and later. From your TV's home screen, search for "Peacock". Select the Peacock app icon. Select the download icon. The latter Samsung smart TV option...I am using a Samsung smart TV and have free access to Peacock...when getting into the upcoming games, I see football and basketball games. But, as of yet, I do not see the Saturday IU vs MSU game. Maybe because the time was not scheduled until recently. Dunno. Good luck.
  15. Indiana caught another lightening in a bottle with Coach Cig...so far. The basketball had one, also. RMK 'The General'. And there may be others, too. Just look at those banners. What a great year. Did you catch the goals against UCLA in soccer? And we have IU basketball Sunday afternoon and I get it on Hulu + Live TV. And even off-brand streaming service have it in Evansville...I checked....SEC Network.
  16. And holding makes at least 3 no calls. Welp...now for our offense to do something positive.
  17. Only reason for the low scores is because of my big prediction for a change: W 24 IU 41 So of course it will be half of those marks.
  18. TJ has his feet under him after a slow start. IU will find a way to get some rushing yardage. OL needs to figure how to push and trap. Hit the line a little earlier. Seems the coaches went conservative with TJ, understandably so. Pull out the stops. Let TJ run. Hope the turnovers keep favoring IU. Not sure about our DL at times. But that is football. Hope defense keeps IU in the game. Keep thinking bend but not break. Touch and go, though.
