  1. I will take that bet. And a response to those that are impressed by Maryland's road win over Illinois...Illinois' big 7 footer was out with the flu. Others in the roster were also out. It won't be easy. But Maryland's road win was a fluke. IU will not fold...I hope. IU will win a close game here. Woody hangs on for another week. And I am definitely not a Woody as coach of IU fan. He was a hell of a basketball player, though. I have to believe that the AD did not want Woody as coach.
  2. Not sure. Somewhere snorkeling Mariana's Trench. She owns a sailboat. Next time I will get in the water.
  3. Coach Woody prepares a great game plan. Indiana's defense is stifling. Rice gets the ball into play quickly with few turnovers. Malik has a breakout game and really steps up his defense. Mgbako scores 18 and passes a lot. 5 assists and some great stops on defense. Ballo does not dribble into trouble. Again passes to get assists when doubled. The Big Ten Referees do a decent job and keep the game going, fairly. Coach Woody coaches like Izzo. What a change! IU wins by double digits on the road. Did you know that weed is legal in Guam and the Northern Marianna Islands?
  4. I understand the poster's point of view. Personally, I can never ever celebrate Indiana loosing. But I support getting rid of the current coaches. I just cannot fathom bad defense in the conference games. I just cannot fathom lack of movement being allowed on offense. I just cannot abide with a coach that doesn't maximize matchups. I believe, whether IU wins or loses, gets in a post-season NCAAT or not, Coach Woody is gone. Have the prospective HC in the wings. Just lose the head coach. Renegotiate his exit payout. Sign it. Bye. Welcome to the new HC. Celebrate that. Inevitable...within months.
  5. Everything in this life is temporary. Except for ego.
  6. IU gave up 54 points in the 2nd half. All hell broke loose when Woody put in 2 bigs. Got to defend the 3 and not give up the turnovers. Mgbako cannot defend. Indiana's defense sux at times. Why? Reread my first paragraph.
  7. IU is bringing the effort. Now draw a couple of fouls. And quit with throwing the ball to NWern. Passing the ball and getting assists are nice. Just finish those shots in the lane.
  8. Carlyle waiting for the rebound to come to him at the half court. Of course it didn't.
  9. Got to get the offense in gear. Defend NWern's #2. Watch the turnovers. Duh.
  10. 3 out of 4 times that I have changed my prediction; I lost big points on the change. Share the ball, defend, keep fouls down, rebound, do not dribble into trouble ...if Mgbako gets out of his slump...Neither he nor Reneau are shut down defenders...but NWern has some questionable defenders, too. And if Coach Woody keeps a good mix of players on the court and they show some serious grit when things inevitably get rough/tough. I think that Ballo will be fine, in part because Reneau just may be available for breathers. To me it is the PG matchup. If Miles Rice does not lose his cool and/or get into foul trouble, that just might get IU over the hump at NWern. And overall turnovers...they are the big killer. The pressure is going to be on the guards. It is apparent...that any team can beat any other team. It is going to be a fun game.
  11. If Mgbako plays well... Indiana 76 NWSE Whatever 73 Boo is missed, happily. They are a mess without him. IU is over the hump. IU is keeping turnovers to a minimum. And blocking out. And playing ball.
  12. Seems to me that the world needs to spin a little more and Lunardi is spinning a little early. But, it is all about clicks at this point for him.
  13. Indiana won this game because of execution being just slightly better. OSU shot better in all respects: 2s, 3s and FTs. Indiana got the ball more. Outrebounded OSU by 5, steals, blocks, assists, all barely in IU's favor. Even the fouls were even at 18. Tough game to watch. Tough win for IU. IU showed just enough grit on the road for a decent conference win against a decent team. Does it mean anything? Oh hell yes. Does it save Woody? Oh hell no. But the decision by the judge has not yet been announced.
  14. And they do not get blown out of 4 games by 20 points or more.
  15. Searching the internet: The NCAA basketball quadrant system is a way of categorizing wins and losses based on the NET ranking of opponents played12. The quadrant system is broken down into four sections, with the top two quadrants having the most importance2. Here is how the NCAA breaks down its quadrant system1: Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75. Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135. Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240. Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus. Last night, Indiana was away with an NET ranking close to 60. And OSU was at home with an NET ranking close to 29 or 31. So that is a Quadrant 1 win or extremely close to it. Remember, the final rankings will look at the end-of-the season NETs. So depending on how these teams do the rest of the season, the NET rankings may go in either direction...changing which Quadrant the teams are in for a past game. To find the NET of every Division 1 team, I search for Kenpom or Pomeroy. They are updated soon after each game. At a point in the season, I believe that the NCAA may start posting their own NET. I have read that they are very similar but have not verified that. It is close enough.,.
  16. Help us, Obi-Wan. You're our only hope.
