Congratulations on passing the bar. Likewise, I was more than relieved when I passed the Professional Engineering Exam....back when we used the abacus. Now it's time to hit the bars. Study tarts not torts. In the St. Johns game, very glad IU has XJ handling the ball. Seems that St. Johns biggest issues will be IU's defense and turnovers. IU's will be hitting 3's, front-line fouls and playing a whole game.

Read online injury report that Trey, Race and Parker were game time decision. Also that for St. Johns: Tareq Coburn G was out; Posh Alexander G; and Julian Champagnie G were game time decision. BPI for St. Johns 31 and for IU 65. Read on a St. Johns fan forum that fans really like the team. They have upgraded personnel. Shot well the last game. Those of us that wanted a tough game for a litmus early in the season...well, this just might be it.

Gavitt game against St. Johns looks to be exciting. Relatively late game...9 PM ET on FS1. St. Johns looks like really good competition. Like IU they have won their first two. They shot 40% from the 3; hit 50% of their shots; made 80% of FTs. Fans think that their 5 Joel Soriano can post up, can box out, stays home on defense but needs some work on d. Too bad this isn't on BTN+ like the basketball game last night. Really enjoyed the game and especially the camera work.

I cannot see the shove. I cannot see Zoot's hand or his arm until TJD's reaction. One can speculate that there was no reason for Zoot to shove or hit TJD. That is probably what happened. But, TJD may have tripped and Zoot may have tried to grab him to help. We cannot see enough to tell. Likely didn't happen. My original post was about not seeing the whole episode. I think that a Flagrant 2 was the right call. I just would have liked to see a clearer video from a better angle of the whole thing. As an aside, there was some shoving and discussion underneath the basket before this happened. TJD had gone eyeball to eyeball with this player, if I remember correctly. Doesn't excuse the Flagrant 2 foul though.

Appreciate this video clip. Thanks. But, it is not at the right angle. And it does not actually show anything except TJD's reaction. I have no doubt that no video exists that shows the actual sequence adequately. Unless some person in the stands has it. Because BTN+ camera may have been on the cheerleaders. Earlier action showed some shoving going on underneath the basket at the other end. So one could speculate that there was some action leading up to the Flagrant 2 foul. TJD did have at least 7 blocks and IU's front line dominated.

I will bet a beer that IU scores at least one field goal. That and Tom Allen gets excited during the game. And McFadden gets at least one tackle. And I bet that our TE will be underutilized...and crossing routes should be used lots more...and at some point we will just keep pounding up the middle for little gain. For want of a couple of QBs, etc... Rutgers beat Illinois and played Michigan tough on the road...so this is no cakewalk. IU wins this...but I'm not betting on it. I've read that IU is favored by 7...don't know what the latest line is.

It has been a long time since I've enjoyed a game as much as last night. So glad that TJD and Race are back and really doing well. And improving! To say that IU's front court was dominating really is sweet. Phin is loose and playing as well as he can. Really happy that he doesn't stop above the key and slow the offense. But Xavier set the mood for the night. Well, he and the front court. Defense is looking really good. Albeit against NIU...but better. The players, the team, hustled the whole dang night! This! One of the most exciting things is watching our point guard Xavier. It was so obvious that PG was one very important cog that IU was missing. I almost couldn't handle the camera work on BTN+. My wife and I were reacting to the camera on the shooter but not following the ball to the hoop. The close ups missed action.The camera would follow a player walking way down the court as the action happened at the other basket. But I was laughing so hard at one point that I lost it when the comments in this thread were spot on! Thanks to all those posters. Between the performance on the court and laughing uncontrollably at the camera inspecting the ceiling of Assembly Hall...what a fun night! Plus, listening to F on the play calling audio and Ted K...one could tell they are radio announcers. And very good. A tip of the ole hat to the coaches. Great improvement....go IU!

I just gave my other half the ok to redecorate our bedroom. It does need it. But I get to spring for BTN+ for a month. Love cheering for IU basketball and soccer...and wishing for IU football. She wanted to watch some rom/com, uh...no. I carried the argument when I said...remember...we graduated when IU went undefeated. A slam dunk...Hint, hint...wink...wink... Go Hoosiers!
