If we don't get to a bowl, he's done. But if we were to fire him after taking us to a bowl, just because we "only" went 6-6, I may be done too. Not that anyone cares, really, but that would just be so stupid, even for IU. We aren't in a position to give the finger to any bowl appearance. We've been to 9 in 130 years of football. We've lost hundreds of games in hundreds of ways. It's beyond time to get over the Rutgers game. We can talk about settling for mediocrity, blah blah blah and I would love to get to the point where we get to upper tier bowls most years, but we just aren't there, and have really never been there. If we don't win 2 more, it's moot. But all the comments I'm seeing on boards about "even if we go 6-6 I would can him" are mind boggling to me.

King and Ramsey look good for the future. Ramsey is putting up absurd numbers up in Cincy. Next year, we need a Chad Kelly to pop up or a 5th year transfer.

I'm preaching to the choir here, but the number of tickets available for this game is absolutely pathetic. You can check it out on our ticket section on iuhoosiers.com. We will probably have a decent walk up crowd because it's homecoming, but we are going into a game favored, and shooting for 5-2 and there will probably be 10,000 empty seats. I'm sure the tradition of people "coming home" to sit in the parking lot will continue. After all, we "filled" the stadium for one game. That's good enough, right? Beat Rutgers.

The SAB and Crimson Guard have tweeted about making signs and making a Gameday like atmosphere. There's going to be plenty of people in the mood to party. I can't believe I'm defending Dakich, as he's a giant ass on his show typically. He'll get a decent showing on Saturday though. Beer sells. Heck, #dakichgameday was trending for a while.

You aren't the only one, but I find it fascinating that the team is playing well, gets a big stage and a sellout crowd, and yet we still have people worrying that it's going to be an "embarrassing" day for the program.

Turf was replaced before the 2008 season after it was flooded. Lifespan is typically 8-10 years. It's noticeably faded at this point.

This has been discussed for a while over at Peegs. That's where we got the scoop that they will likely replace the turf next summer. Glass is a fan of this suggestion.

I guess I don't understand your point. The game in Detroit is a lower tier bowl with a Big Ten tie in (basically like getting an 8 or 9 seed)...there's usually a MAC team involved. They aren't going to turn us away. Also, we traveled really well to Tempe in 07, and bowl reps even commented on that afterword. We have a giant alumni base.

If they're that upset over CKW making a joke at an alumni event, mostly at the expense of his religion, then they have mental toughness of a 4 year old.

Afternoon games on ABC also air on ESPN2. Depends on where you are. ABC uses the ESPN graphics for games. More people get ABC than ESPN, but it doesn't matter because it's the same company. And anyway, Gameday just goes where the good story is. They go up to ND constantly, but every ND home game is on NBC. The UGA/Bama game we're competing with is on CBS, although they won't get Gameday because Bama has already been on twice.

Also the "prime time tv assignment" thing is actually BS. The Gameday game started at 3:30 or earlier 6 times last year.
