Funny. There were guys on here saying Woodson wasn't going to be successful before he even got the keys to his office. Yes, I'll double down. We'll know by Jan. 2026 if the program is going in the right direction. If he looks as clueless as Archie/Woodson, then we know trouble is ahead. If he looks like a real dude, then we know good things are coming.

Guys, some have just to face it. The IU Basketball brand in damaged. And I said damaged, not dead. It's not what it used to be -- so getting players, coaches, etc. isn't automatic. But it is RECOVERABLE. It will take some time to rebuild the brand. It starts with winning. No major controversies. A supportive fan base. Etc. Time will tell is CDD is the man for the job. I think we'll know by Jan, 2026.

You do know Rome wasn't built in a day, right? Right now the goal is to get a competitive team on the floor that can finish upper end of Big10 and make the tournament without doing the bubble thing. Build culture, start winning and the studs will come.

Right. No issue with the players being able to earn a few dollars. But make a 4-year commitment, and love the school as much as the money. Otherwise go to University of Indiana. :)

Not only can he scout, he can coach. He'll take a bunch of lunch bucket guys and at least make the tournament. Patience everyone. PS: And I want an announcement of something more than anyone. :)

He's making the tourney next year. Book it.

We don't really know what is going on behind the scenes. We know he has assistants, but they where waiting on an announcement. Not sure why you wouldn't announce them when they are hired. Create several positive touches for the program -- but that is a marketing issue. We also don't have a good handle on who IU is interested in, who's visiting, etc. I am sure he has his "draft" board and is reaching out to candidates regularly. We just haven't seen any results yet. But as other have said, it's early.

Yeah, I think with some many open spots he's trying to Rubik's Cube everything together. I am sure by now he has his draft board and is doing his due diligence -- maybe to a fault.

So some dude nobody has heard of, playing D2, is found by our new guy. Comes to campus, etc. all under the radar. Has 3 years left. That is a coach who is grinding. :)

Yeah, but not as freely due to buyouts. Remember our discussions about Cronin and his apparently crazy buyout.

Unfortunately, that is college basketball today. Kid comes in and as a freshmann gets decent minutes and can learn the big game. Set to start the following year and thereafter be one of the big dogs on the team. But Noooooooo. My feelings are hurt and I am out of here.

Don’t forget the guys on here convinced themselves that we had an A+ roster last year. That the guards we picked up who couldn’t shoot would improve their shooting, etc. How did that work out? Maybe it’s time to apply the Constanza rule.

You said it right there. Kentucky, Louisville and Michigan haven’t been basket cases for 25 years. They had a few years with a bad coach and made a change to a better coach. Coach DD has his work cut out for him.
