As an aside, what made Phil Jackson was his ability to manage the progessional egos of guys like MJ, Pippen, Rodman, etc. etc. He sucked at the rest of it. :)

Development is on the player too. Race is the guy who has developed. Woody talks about allowing him to do things "he wasn't allowed" to do before. He brings the ball up the court at times. He's not afraid to shoot the three (for better or worse) -- and it's clear he's working at it. I for one hope he sticks around.

Oh yeah. Remind me how he did against Indiana State and Fort Wayne. :)

Point being -- out of 100+ mens basketball teams trying to get better and make the tourney only 2 look to have pulled it off thru free agency. Those aren't good odds. The portal can help fill in a piece or two, but rebuilding is hard.
