  1. Woody has indicated in press comments he does it in practice but can't get him to do it in the game. Don't know why.
  2. I don't think there is. It was made up in our minds -- this guy this, that guy that. Talent shows up game after game after game. Talent kills. Talent carrys a dagger and uses it when the openent is on it's last breath. We had guys play above their talent and won a few big ones. When they played to their talent, we where the inferior team. Kills me to say it.
  3. Race is limited. However, he's the only one who showed any improvement this year. From taking the ball up the court, to hitting a few threes, at least he improved. Who else did? The guys who where supposed to be "shooters" aren't. You surround a 4 year kid like Race with some legit talent and it's a different team. We need talent, bad.
  4. Both way better jobs than IU. Sorry.
  5. The Truth. Nobody was knocking down the door. One poster even idicated some of the "names" agents where contacted and express no interest. It was Woody, or the kid who coaches the FIJI intermural team.
  6. So would you have been happy with the next hot thing -- Porter Moser? Nobody was comming here. Face it.
  7. We could not. Who would it be and why? IU is a "football school."
  8. Look man, the Pope himself couldn't do much with these misfits.
  9. None of those guys where comming. Zero, zip, nada.
  10. We need horses. We don't have them. Rutgers goes zone and we have several open 3s and can't hit water if we fell out of a boat. Old IU teams would have crushed that and made them cry. We peed down our leg. Cut a bunch of guys loose and go find some killers please.
  11. I won't disagree with you, but it wasn't Woody who forced the ball in to TJD which ended up a turn over. That basically turned the game. And I love the kid that did it -- just one of those plays I wish we had back. Now was that the right offense for that time? We can debate that one all night. :)
  12. That’s exactly what happened in the final min of this game. TJD got the ball in the post. The defender overplayed him to go left. Leaving the right hand move wide open. TJD went left, got pushed out and took at long hook shot, and missed. He ain’t Kareem.
  13. I'll answer with a story from my "coaching the kids days." Young group, maybe 4-5th grade. 5-6 pre season practices and we work a lot on passing the ball, moving, etc. We get to the first game and my instructions are look to make the pass, cut, move the ball around, etc. We get the ball on offense, and heck yeah, they did a great job of passing the ball around. Gave up a bunch of open shots to do it. I call time out, get them over, and say "guys, what's going on? Why aren't we shooting?" Their answer -- "you didn't tell us too." :) Now granted, these guys aren't that young and should know better how to make an offense work. But if the coach is telling them to work thru TJD, that's what they are goind to do. Even if they have to force it, and it ends up in a turnover like last night. When there is no TJD, they have no choice but run an offense and move.
  14. If any of this is true, we have got major problems. Last thing we need is a staff exodus. Woodson needs to be a team player and listen to the guys that are around to advise him
  15. In one of his recent press appearances Woodson said he wants to run a pick and roll offense but the players are struggling with it. Thus the force it into TJD and stand around offense.
  16. I’ll give you lack of effort and the branch is a good motivator, but who you going to put in if someone’s dogging it? As for execution, that’s on the player. You either have it or you don’t. We don’t right now.
  17. Maybe they over achieved. The schedule got tough and it didn’t work out so well.
  18. Players who can’t execute play at the mid major level.
  19. If that’s true, then shame on woody.
  20. If you’re not first you’re last.
  21. And that’s on Woodson? I’m sure in the huddle he said “hey let’s just play stupid basketball and chuck up wild shots, that’ll work.”
