I get that. But if I am projected to take his spot, and I can go just about anywhere, I want it "in writing" so to speak. Unless and until it's official, it can change. Look what happened with TJD -- Covid kept him at IU.
He needs to go live with Hulls this off season and become that can't miss sharp shooter who gets you back into games with 2-3 consecutive 3s and then comes out.
I think they, the NCAA, are going to slam down on it. No other league has this crazy free for all. And while it lets teams literally rebuild overnight, it's also like Rec league where you never know who you got.
Alabama was a number 1 seed. "Just one player away. As soon as you (fill in the blank here) sign, we'll be set."
Don't overcomplicate the point. The young coaches have what they have to sell. Woody has what he has. It's that simple.
I guess reading is a skill. That's what he has to sell. As I said, don't know if it plays or not. But is certainly doesn't take long to "sell" it. It's not like he can talk Fortnight or tick tok with these kids. He can do it and golf at the same time.
What's the question? Oats and Muss are young up and commers building programs -- NCAA tourney, final fours, etc. Going to be around 20+ years. Woodson has one thing to sell and one thing only -- I can get you to the NBA (exhibit A and B -- TJD and JHS). Shouldn't take more than a few minutes between holes to sell that. :)
Lets not confuse effort with accomplishment. (granted those to dudes have accomplished some things, although a bit underwhelming for Oats this year). I don't know if Woodson's "son, I'll get you to the NBA" schtick will sell, but we'll see.
I know these transfers had to happen, but doens't mean I like it. We are loosing guys who showed some loyalty when there was nothing to be loyal to. They're "our guys" as frustrating as they played sometimes. We fill the spots with mercinaries. I guess thats the new world in college basketball. Free agency "ruined" the pros. Sigh.
Yeah, I am not sure Sparks is either of the two names mentioned. And height for height's sake is what it is, I guess. Hope he proves me wrong. Just kind of an underwhelming first get, IMO. (assuming this all plays out). Nevertheless, once he joins, I'll be his biggest supporter -- as he's one of our guys.
