  1. Agreed. But we are taking about the context of getting the 2nd contract which should be the really big one. If you’re in the bottom half of the draft, sitting on the bench, or worse relegated to G league, how much development are you getting vs another year playing 30+ mins a night, and leading the team, at a big time college program. JHS has gotten better this year because he was thrown into the deep end of the pool and he’s playing a lot. (Im trying like heck to keep him here :) )
  2. That's over the 4 year contract term, with only the first 2 years guaranteed. The last two years are team options. Here is next year's rookie scale. 15th would be looking at about $7 mil guaranteed. https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/info/rookie_scale/2024
  3. Define "large guaranteed contact." Top 15 at $3 mil? With only 2 years guaranteed. I know, big money to you and me, but not really by NBA star standards. Predicting the future -- It's a tough decision.
  4. So this begs the question. Do you go to the NBA to “develop” or should you already be developed? With a four year rookie contract you don’t have much time. So if you’re not ready to go in and make an immediate impact, maybe you want to wait?
  5. You actually used the word “defense” when talking about the NBA. That’s funny right there. :)
  6. Idk. I would question “world class” coaching. Lots of bad in the NBA. Also, Romeo is basically a part time player in the NBA. That’s fine if you’re about being a pro and cashing a check. On the other hand, being BMOC is kinda fun too.
  7. What a great morning. No better feeling than beating those turds especially at their place. However, this was a game that showed the one dimensional game of TJD. If he had any outside shot at all it wouldn’t have been close. Many times he as left open at the FT line and tried to dribble instead of taking the open shot. We also need the bench to provide something. It’s been god awful the past few weeks. Kopp should have dunked that last shot. :) Let’s finish strong.
  8. What the hell. It’s IU v Purdue. Tiny human gets to stay up. Start them young.
  9. Yeah we went too during the Crean era. But I’m a realist as well. Took him to a Bears v Lions game. He wanted to wear his Adrian Petersen Vikings jersey. We had to walk thru the tailgates in the parking lot and he got “abused.” He Learned a lot about fandom that day. :)
  10. Fair enough but they probably have already heard it. I didn’t take my kid to cubs vs Sox, cubs vs cardinals or bears vs packers for the same reason.
  11. No, not Kopp. The snowflakes who are "offended" by the student section chant. Fans going to be fans. Rowyder the better. :)
  12. Who cares. So their fans got a little over the top. Miller should be happy they cared enough to notice he was gone. Grow a pair and give me those Philly fans who threw snowballs at Santa Clause. :)
  13. Hang on. When you say double dipping, it means he got compensated for two things at once -- his police shift and the game? A lot of these guys have day jobs and it wouldn't be uncommon for them to have time off to ref a game.
  14. Bates is pressing. Needs to calm down and just play basketball like he's at the gym.
  15. It wasn't an offensive foul. It was a great block on the goal line with 4th and 1. Pat Fitzgerald must have been scouting him. :)
  16. Look it was a crap no call. Both things can be true — play like horse chit and bad officiating. The Big10 is borderline effecting the integrity of the game with crap officiating. You don’t want to call and obvious foul at the end of the game? Fine. Then call the obvious ones underneath during the game. It’s pure crap at this point.
  17. Kudo's to NW. Good for Chris Collins, local boy done good. So when we win on Wed, should I storm the court. :)
  18. IMHO Bates gets in a then tries to do too much. He tries to be a "star" instead of just playing team basketball and taking what the defense gives him. Such as last night, trying to go one on one and shooting with three dudes guarding you -- not a recepie for success.
  19. In other words, basically turning it back into a regional conference. :)
  20. Frankly, at this point it would say more about the player than the program. Simply ask the kid -- who sits if I play you?
  21. Whatever. I know the kids want to play, but come on man. Ideally, most freshmen should sit and learn. You need them around 3-4 years to build a team and a program.
