Sounds like pre-commitment announcement hype to me.

The annual, dare I say, Sam Story email came out today with an interesting tidbit on Joson. He says HE initiated the contact with IU and is very Pro-IU. He also says he is a 2024 reclass with a late-spring/early summer announcement.

My first thought was it being a little shot at Boogie, a roundabout way of saying, “don’t go back on your word.” If so, yeah buddy!

To get 2/3, with Woody and co.‘s track record in the spring, we still likely get three 5* in the 2024 class. Derik Queen, come on now!

In an effort to be positive and realistic right now, it’s worth mentioning that IU is still in great shape for spring 2024 and 2025. If this development holds true, getting MM and Ware to the NBA as 1st round picks becomes extremely important. That would be 4 players in 2 years, and spring 2024/2025 would have more evidence that Woodson and staff get their top recruits into the NBA “on schedule.” The culture has a great foundation, and the track record can only improve. Win more, send these two guys to the NBA, develop Malik, Gunn, and Banks to “future NBA players” and more flashy recruits will choose the Hoosiers. It’s a setback but not an insurmountable one in the grand scheme of things.

Well, for what it’s worth, Adam Howard changed his Twitter profile picture from “Mr. October” to an IU x NBA graphic. It’s true the signs really aren’t great. What can ya do? The staff swung for the fences, and that’s what we all have wanted as fans/alum. The direction is still up.

Good catch. It appears he followed him awhile ago and was only noticed yesterday by an IU fan on Twitter. I wonder what went on there.

According to Twitter (again), Meleek Thomas is now being followed on Instagram by Hoosier alum…Mark Cuban. Could Meleek be joining the fun sooner than anticipated? Momentum on the recruiting trails would be at its highest high in over a decade.

Reason this would be momentous in so many ways is we add another 5 star for the third year in a row and our chances of being a contending team in the B1G increase drastically as well as being top 25 (relevancy). We have a chance to add two (maybe three) to the NBA draft. His addition would be HUGE.
