  1. It feels like Archie Miller had an astounding number of recruits who went on to transfer more than once.
  2. They drafted Tamika Catchings 3rd overall knowing she wasn't going to play due to a torn ACL. I wondered if Mack might be someone they'd consider because ESPN's projection has them taking a player who plays the same position, is almost the same height and has similar stats. As long as Clark and Boston are good to go, I doubt they'd be too concerned about the bench this season.
  3. The Fever have the 15th pick. I wonder if they'd consider taking Mack? If I'm remembering right, I think they took Grace a few spots higher than she was projected to go.
  4. I like how it manages to be cool, hilarious and somewhat creepy all at once. Apparently they do it at football games, so you can imagine what an entire stadium of fans doing that sounds like.
  5. Gonzaga passed them in that category last year since Purdue lost to a 16 seed. So I guess Purdue took back what was rightfully theirs.
  6. That has more to do with Caitlin Clark than Purdue. This year's men's game had a higher viewership than last year's.
  7. Fun fact I just discovered: In Archie Miller's third season, we needed a late rally to sneak past an awful Northwestern team at home. Northwestern's leading scorer in that game was Pat Spencer, a former lacrosse player who joined their basketball team that season. He's Cam Spencer's older brother.
  8. When a 16 seed upsets a 1 seed in the future: "Virginia won it all the next year. Purdue...well, they almost did."
  9. I have zero sympathy for Purdue fans, because they've been spoiled rotten the past 3 years. But I think the idea that they were one win away from having a banner of their own and it didn't happen is going to haunt them for awhile. You have to remember this was only the third time they've ever reached a Final Four. They're used to season-ending failures, but rarely have they ever had to wait that long for it.
  10. He came back to win it all THIS year. The impact he and Caitlin Clark had for their respective teams and the games themselves was nuts, and what's even more insane is that either of them could have played a fifth year. Glad they're both moving on.
  11. I've managed to ignore a good deal of Purdue social media noise the last few weeks, but something that caught my eye today was that Lafayette schools are having a 2 hour delay tomorrow so kids could stay up late to watch this game. I wonder how many kids will stay home? I was still in school when Illinois made it to the final game, and knew an Illinois fan who was a no-show the next day.
  12. They're still going to be good, but I think they're finally due for a bit of regression. This was probably a once in a generation type of team.
  13. That was f*cking satisfying. I wasn't ready to live in a world where Purdue won it all.
  14. I actually had this thought awhile back, but at the time, I thought Painter would be a tough sell for UK fans because he'd never made a Final Four, but obviously that's no longer the case...
  15. You're probably right. It's more fun to think they had money on it. It wasn't their best night, that's for sure. I thought they missed some easy calls both ways.
  16. O/U was 160 and the combined score was 158. Definitely think one of them bet the over and wanted to extend the game.
  17. These refs have money on this game? No other reason to review this in a 14 point game with 18 seconds left.
  18. This could get away from Tennessee pretty quick. Every possession for Purdue is a made bucket or a foul.
  19. Kind of nice that there won't be any games going past midnight tonight.
  20. UConn was up 30 on Northwestern as well, then kind of got lazy toward the end and won by 17. Let's see how they finish this one.
  21. Crazy that Illinois hasn't lost a game by double digits all season.
  22. I heard the other night they lost 3 guys to the NBA and got better. If we lost 3 guys to the NBA we wouldn't sniff the NIT.
  23. From tied to up 30 in just 8 minutes.
  24. They weren't doing a whole lot with him, either. They went almost 6 minutes without scoring before he got hurt.
  25. Of course they would hit that. And of course, the girl who made it averages less than one per game.
