  1. Figured this was coming when we were shooting 74% in the first half but only led by like 8.
  2. Officials just don't fear DeVries. No way a team playing Tom Izzo would get away with all this.
  3. Baseline ref on Northwestern's offensive end is blind as a bat. Two out of bounds calls he's blown now.
  4. How many times will they remind us that Singleton is from Indiana?
  5. With an encore of missing the first free throw short when we're only 7 minutes into the game.
  6. Pritchard, because we didn't pay anything for him.
  7. I'd rather win this game, along with the next two. This season is starting to get a bit too close to Archie Miller territory where it feels like we're limping across the finish line and just trying to survive.
  8. I'm afraid of two things right now with the Pacers: 1) They'll start to get healthy, and due to pressure from the league, start winning, sending their pick to the Clippers, or 2) They'll finish in the bottom 4, but the league will rig the lottery to make sure their pick goes to the Clippers.
  9. I'm sure the officials will remember they're in the Call Center and that will change in the second half.
  10. Death, taxes, and missing live action because CBS tried to sneak an extra commercial in.
  11. Remember when our coaches used to coach the whole game? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
  12. And the 3rd quarter swoon is off and running...same as every game.
  13. Not that it makes a huge difference, but our non-con SOS has found its way below 300 as it does seemingly every year. I keep thinking we'll either finally figure out how to schedule or maybe we just happen to schedule a bunch of overachievers in the same season.
  14. I hate it that Sisley has disappeared from the rotation. Why can't we have a freshman from Indiana come in and actually make a splash? Purdue brings in 3 star recruits Loyer and Smith, and they start immediately for a team that gets ranked #1 and wins the Big Ten. We bring in a freshman to a team just trying to make the tournament and he can't even get on the floor. Par for the course with this program, I guess.
  15. Need to come out with our hair on fire. If we're flat and lethargic again, I'm going to lose a lot of faith in this staff.
  16. Probably no one cares, but Dusty May's first trip to Mackey Arena was a 91-64 loss. Purdue fans were snickering after that one, saying "this is who IU fans wanted?" I know we aren't going to match what he did last year, but felt it was worth mentioning.
  17. Kind of figured this one had gone off the rails when IU Baseball Twitter suddenly quit posting updates after the 7th inning.
  18. As soon as our season is done (maybe sooner), we need to identify the guys we want and pay them what they want. No excuses, no cutting corners, all gas no brakes. I'm not real optimistic that will actually happen but it sounded hopeful when I wrote it.
  19. I'm glad it's February and not January. When we get closer to the end of the season, and to spring, games like this are easier to stomach. Hopefully we can get some fun moments in our remaining home games.
  20. The other night against Michigan, Purdue didn't shoot a single free throw in the first half. Knowing Big Ten refs, and knowing how much we like to reach and grab, I expect a much different looking game tonight.
  21. So many game winners these days get ruined by officials constantly blowing their whistles and needing to confirm it. Anyone who's ever watched a basketball game knew that was good as it was happening.
  22. My biggest worry recently has been that they'll try and get Glenn Box from Miami while we stick with a coach who's in the exit lane of her career. Hopefully he's not interested or they look elsewhere.
  23. Thankfully the committee doesn't consist of all the old heads on IU message boards who think we have to win the BTT.
  24. I know the arc of champions has always been top 25 for offense and defense, but if you're looking only at defense, it really needs to be more like top 10-15. The lowest defensive ranking for a national champion was Baylor in 2021, coming in at #22. That was also during Covid, with a shortened season and weird environments, so a slight asterisk there. The worst defensive rating for a champion was Villanova in 2018, at 94.0, which ranked 11th that year. National champions usually have a defensive rating in the high 80's/low 90's, which usually ranks in the top 10-15 for that season.
