Offensive execution is fairly strong aside from turnovers. But we can’t defend worth a lick. Disgusting.

Exactly! And 100% they should have played together. But that put Mgbako out of position and our guards stunk to high heaven. That team could have been incredible. 2 different guards from the portal instead of K9 and Myles. Play Goode and Galloway in 3 spot. Play Mgbako, Reneau, Ballo at the 4/5. And with better 1/2 punch at guard? Whoa Nelly. That team could have been incredible.

I would argue that’s a winning strategy. lol. Gotta have the resources and pick the right guys. woody thought he did that then he got Myles Rice and K9 who weren’t what they were thought to be. Take that same team and give them a coach and 2 better guards and that team would have been incredible. I feel like we will try to do it on the cheap again. Gonna need some players to pop.

We won’t play harder the Martinelli. We don’t have defensive answers for much on this team. Hopefully we play smart and hard. Gotta really compete on the defensive end. But…….then we will foul. I love this team.

I always liked Reneau. You could tell he cared. He played hard. Our team would be much better with him. We still needed more. Like an actual rebounding/defending 5. I feel like Alexis and Reneau could have played together though even if we didn’t get a better 5. Anyway, good for him. Bad for us.

As talented as Anthony seems to be and his potential i wouldn’t want that circus pressure that exists with family.

Indeed. The dreaded A target, to B target, to C target, etc. same with HS recruiting. We have a budgeted amount so we will definitely get guys. Hopefullly that money goes to the top of the tier list guys.

This is my hope but I’m not sure. I think increased funds and the ability to overpay is the only immediate way. I feel like we need some enthusiasm pumped into the program but that isn’t the DDV way. Building a roster that turns heads would be nice but I really see that as an immense challenge. Lots of good/better coaches are bringing back more. We feel so behind the 8 ball. Gotta hope the Carr move pays some dividends. Reality is another fringe year and hope the freshman class hits better than expected and a build can start. I don’t know. Land the right 3 or 4 guys out of the portal and everything changes but I’m not optimistic we will get it done. If we are doing the Orme, mid majors type build it’ll be a prove it year.

McKenney is a good call. Sprinkle in the 5 star with vets. That’s the move. It’s what Woodson as trying to do but the vets were mostly bad. And the system. Maleek Thomas for Arkansas. And plenty of others.

Almost best possible path. But Purdue will crush us if we get by NW and that’ll end it. Sad, but at least there’s a path.

Too much to add in an off-season. Basically need 5 starter level guys. That’s spreading 7-8 pretty thin.

Those rumored names aren’t gonna move the needle at all. But realistically we will end up with another 35th ranked team out of the gates. Trying to strike lightning in a bottle. None of these guys are athletic.
