  1. You're right. That was five minutes of excellent oratory, perfectly describing the bond between school, coaches, team, and fan base. Lots of hope for future greatness in football but this team and players will always be uniquely special.
  2. One of the enjoyable things about winning a natty is reliving the great moments of the game, forever, on YouTube. One of the annoying things is listening to various pundits providing postmortem assessments that to me sound short sighted and dumb. Since Monday night, I've heard: * IU benefitted greatly from Cuban's backing * Had older, more experienced players * Will never duplicate what they did this year * Gamed the system * Got lucky bounces * Still isn't a destination for most 4 and 5 star recruits * Gives hope to every school in the America that they too, can win a natty. What utter BS. While bits and pieces of the above may be true, we won it all because we have the best coach in college football, aided by an outstanding set of assistants, led by a great AD and President, and forged by putting together precise measures of brains, passion, athleticism, desire, grit, and determination. I don't see anyone else pulling off what we did this year, unless it's us again.
  3. This will never, ever, ever, get old.
  4. I'm sure there's a logical reason for it, but in reviewing all the gear and merchandise that's come out in the last 12 hours, about 60% say Indiana Hoosiers, National Champions 2025. About 40% say 2026.
  5. I thought the White House visited them last night?!
  6. Nobody, but nobody, sounds as great, nor does as good a job, as Don Fischer.
  7. The problem is, one brain cell is all Mark Davis has ever had. I bet he has a private charter bus. That's extremely short.
  8. Irvin has the brains of a powdered doughnut.
  9. Whatever it is, you can bet it will involve a mirror, a razor blade and a rolled up dollar bill.
  10. I live south of the cities, near LeSueur. Been here around 20 years and like you, am not keen on the snow and cold. Hoping to move back home to Indiana in the next few years.
  11. I'll be watching the game from my living room here in Minnesota. Surprising how many comments I'm getting from complete strangers to my IU gear. Not a negative one in the bunch. One fella at Costco even looked at my IU sweatshirt at Christmas and said, "Great team, ah one, ah two, you know what to do"! So with that intro I proceeded to sing our fight song amongst the bakery items. Got some curious smiles and even some clapping.
  12. This poll from one of the Bucknut sites, after their loss tonight, was too good to not share. The bitterness and resentment just oozes. g in Ranking the Remaining Teams on Who I Want to Win 0 HS by Brutus's Hat 12/31/25 at 11:25p in the College Sports Forum 1) Ole Miss. Would be absolutely hilarious for Kiffin to leave and then the team rally and win it all without him. 2) Miami. It would be funny to have Miami be unlikely to make the playoffs then win it all, and would be the worst outcome for Notre Dame. 3) Oregon. A good redemption story from last season and mimic our path. 4) Texas Tech. Very likeable team. Tough defense. 5) Georgia. I don't mind a great team winning it all. 6) Alabama. Another insult to Notre Dame. 7) Indiana. Can't stand them. Hope they lose by 50. Lmao.
  13. Much as I love seeing Ohio State get their nuts racked, having to watch Michael the coke-head Irvin on every sideline scan, annoys the hell out of me. What a irrelevant hanger-on!
  14. Pavia, the future chauffeur/gardener for Mendoza, could be granted six more years of college football eligibility, but he pi$$ed away any future Heisman consideration.
  15. Given the last 30 years of mediocrity, and piss-poor coaching, I'd just be happy if at the end of the year we could say the team was better on the last day of the season than they were on the first. I'll be happy if they show noticeable improvement on the offensive end, and put forth even a modicum of effort defensively. I'd be ecstatic if we make the tournament, but not that disappointed if we don't, so long as a foundation is being built for future success, and that should be evident by next March.
  16. He's got nice, consistent form to his shot; comes off his hand, really clean. Some of his shots look like he he has range as far back as Ellettsville. Helluve nice scoop shot too. I don't know about his speed of foot, but he gives his best when he's on the floor, and that's better than what we've seen in some time.
  17. The new approach to college athletics, gets seedier by the day.
  18. Indiana football landed a verbal commitment from Center Grove offensive lineman C.J. Scifres today. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2025/06/14/iu-football-recruiting-5-commits-including-center-grove-cj-scifres/84211916007/
  19. I wonder if the state of Indiana still annually produces some of the country's finest basketball players? Somehow, I don't think we do, or certainly not to the degree we once did. Consequently, talent will need to be recruited wherever it may be found. If it's here, great. If not, well...
  20. Are you talking about him saying, "Hey b!tch, go make me a ham samich"?
  21. Come on children, play nice. Don't make daddy have to go and get the leather strap and duct tape.
