  1. Nice to finally see a road crowd in the SEC that isn't 50% UK fans. Must be weird actually playing in hostile territory for them
  2. Man, so much good defense.....
  3. Who you guys got, Virginia or Louisville?
  4. Oklahoma State fans stormed the court again. I still remember last year or the year before when they were ranked higher than Oklahoma and still stormed the court
  5. Eh, the CBA is actually really good compared to the old one. The old one the players had so much power, and was so big market friendly. The new one did a lot to correct those issues
  6. Then he has a qualifying offer, which unless something unforseen happens they'll most likely extend then match most offers he gets. Chances are good he could be stuck there until his prime
  7. So on a Pacers fan site someone posted a mock draft that had player comparisons. Funniest was comparing Myles Turner to LMA, because going to the same college seemed to be the whole basis for the comparison. Even though they are nothing a like offensively
  8. It isn't accurate. There are examples of teams that suck defensively, any team coached by Mike D'Antoni, really the Cavs aren't all that good defensively outside of of LBJ now that Varejo is out. But defense wins out at a higher rate in the NBA . Also, it is worth noting that there are certain big rules in the NBA that strongly encourage defense, the verticality rule, and defensive three second call. Whereas neither of these exist, or in the case of verticality are apparent. Also, the talent difference between the offensive talent in the NBA and NCAA is pretty extreme. You aren't really comparing similar levels. The players in the NBA are the best in the world at what they do, there are so many college players that will never sniff the NBA. For examples of defense being big in the NBA look at teams like the Pacers, Heat, Bulls, Grizzlies, and Spurs in recent years as examples of teams that pride themselves on defense that have dominated the league
  9. Just to add onto this, the dumbed down offensive argument seems to be out of date to an extent too. The Hawks, Spurs, and Warriors are all considered top NBA teams, their ball movement and off the ball movement is incredible. There are other teams like this as well. Whereas teams that more rely on one on one ball, the Knicks, are horrible. End of my pro-NBA rant
  10. The defense argument about the NBA is always funny. Because it really isn't all that accurate
  11. Another quote worth taking into consideration, Bird said he hoped to acquire one more pick. Also said he isn't opposed to giving this core one more healthy go. Which seems kind of crazy to me. We failed three straight years in pretty much the same exact fashion. Windows don't stay open that long in the NBA without a talent like LBJ or Durant. And our star is going to be coming back from an awful injury
  12. Worth mentioning that Twitter went kind of nuts with the quote. Could also be his reaction to that. Honestly anticipating him being back in 7 months after that injury is crazy
  13. I took it as shock that Bird mentioned March. I could be wrong
  14. Honestly if we aren't picking in the top 3 then find a way to get into the top 3. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the best player from this draft and it wouldn't be close
  15. Lots of interesting quotes from Bird today. Says shooting guard is biggest position of concern. Please, please, please do something to get Russel.
  16. Lol, at talking heads proposing we trade our first for MCW. Dude is crazy overrated. Also, incredibly inefficient shooter, who turns the ball over at a horrifying rate. Yeah that is exactly what this offense is missing
  17. Wiggins is going to be really freaking good. I still think the Cavs were dumb to trade him
  18. Mad Ants or D League? Because if anything the D League is going to be expanded in the next yeara
  19. So I kind of wish ESPN would move the X Games to one of the other channels. I enjoy Saturday night college basketball. And instead tonight we had th X Games on ESPN and the Australian Open on ESPN2. Their ratings can't be that good for either event, right?
  20. So I haven't been following Iowa all that closely. Is Woodbury still at best a decent player? I remember when he was first recruited they thought he could be real good. Which is funny
  21. Klay Thompson put up 37 points in the third quarter last night
  22. Prayers sent. I know I lost my Mom 9 years ago to cancer. Definitely be praying that everything works out in the end she pulls through
  23. So, earlier this week I got my conversion paper, I made it over the hump and will be on and having long term job security. Seriously any prayers that were sent my way were greatly appreciated. Thanks so much guys
  24. Would people be opposed to drafting Russel if we are in the position to? Our offense lacks so much in terms of playmaking
  25. JBJ and Yogi being that low is kind of scary. We've seen Yogi shoot much better and with a higher usage. And JBJ is just a great shooter
