The Hoosiers will travel to No. 11 Northwestern (12-6, 4-3) for a 4p kickoff. The match can be streamed live on BTN+. Week 11: Friday, November 1 – Indiana at Northwestern – 3:00 p.m. ET – Lakeside Field Follow: Stats | BTN + | @IndianaFH CORNER HITS LAST TIME: ROAD TRIP WIN Indiana Field Hockey returned to the win column last Friday with a 3-2 victory over Central Michigan on the road. The Chippewa's got on the board first, but a last second goal by Sheridan Weiss to end the first half tied the game at 1-1. Hailey Couch added on to the Hoosiers lead with a goal in the third quarter to make it a 2-1 game. Savannah Bucher scored the third goal for Indiana as they stretched the lead to two in the fourth quarter. Trying to embark on a comeback, Central Michigan pulled the match within one, but the Hoosiers goalkeeper, Shelby Querry, came up with two key saves that preserved the victory for Indiana. FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING With the victory over Drexel on Sept. 1, head coach Kayla Bashore earned her first career win at the helm of the field hockey program. On the field, freshmen Tori Hill earned her first career start in an Indiana uniform. Hill also recorded her first shot of her career at Saint Louis on Sept. 13 and first assist on Sept. 20 at Michigan State. Hills's first goal of her career came against Iowa on Oct. 18. Freshman Kennedy Reardon scored her first career goal that was unassisted off a deflected shot. Senior Sheridan Weiss also saw her first game where she had the game winning goal. WORTH NOTING Hailey Couch leads the Indiana offense with 10 goals and one assist to tally 21 points. Couch ranks fifth in the Big Ten Conference and 35th nationally in goal per game. Junior Rylee Pearson has recorded three defensive saves this season. She ranks second in the Big Ten and sixth in the nation. Pearson recorded two at Rutgers and one at Fairfield, Maryland, and Ohio. Seniors Ciara Girouard and Kelsey Giese were named captains for 2019 season.

Those matches are Oct. 16 at Maryland, Oct. 20 at Iowa, Oct. 25 vs. Nebraska and Oct. 30 at Purdue. Lofton Reaches 400 Against Iowa on Saturday, senior Deyshia Lofton recorded her 400th career block to become the eighth player in program history to reach that mark. Lofton has 403 blocks for her career and is three blocks from moving into seventh on the Hoosiers all-time list for career blocks. Indiana Block Party The Hoosiers rank sixth in the Big Ten in blocking at 2.46 blocks per set. Indiana has recorded double-digit blocks in 10 matches this season, including 17 blocks in their win over Kentucky. Indiana tallied a season-high 18.5 blocks in their match against Purdue. The Hoosiers ranked 13th in the NCAA in total blocks with 223.5 on the season. The New Hoosiers There are nine new Hoosiers that were not on the 2018 roster, including five transfers and four freshmen. Emily Fitzner, First Team Under Armour All-American will be a freshman setter. Fitzner is the sister of former IU basketball player Evan Fitzner. Megan Sloan returns home to Indiana after three seasons in Louisville. Sloan is the daughter of Brian Sloan, a member of the 1987 IU men's basketball national championship team. Haley Armstrong, member of the Canadian Junior National Team, will be a freshman defensive specialist for the Hoosiers. Jacqui Armer transferred to Indiana after three seasons at LSU.

Hoosiers Conclude Regular Season On Wednesday at Michigan State LIVE STATS GAME NOTES BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer (7-8-2, 3-5-2) will close out the 2019 regular season with a road trip to Michigan State on Oct. 30 at 1p. Wednesday's match up will serve as the make-up game from Sept. 27 when play was stopped due to weather. Week 11: Wednesday, October 30 – Indiana at Michigan State – 1:00 p.m. ET – Demartin Stadium Follow: Stats | @IndianaWSOC SCOUTING THE SPARTANS • Michigan State played two home matches this past weekend when they hosted Maryland and Rutgers. On Friday, a goal by the Terrapins would be the difference in the contest as the Spartans fell, 1-0. Michigan State scored two early goals on Sunday vs. No. 21 Rutgers to take 2-0 leads but the Scarlet Knights led a charge to regain the lead by scoring three unanswered goals. Rutgers won the contest, 3-2. Gia Walhberg leads the Spartans offense with nine goals for 18 points. She has started all 15 games this season. Between the pipes, Lauren Kozal has tallied 1, 563 minutes with 76 saves. • The Hoosiers hold a 17-7-2 record in the all-time series vs. Michigan State. Indiana has won the last two matches by posting a 3-0 win in 2018 at home and a 1-0 win on the road in 2017. LAST TIME OUT • The Hoosiers played one game over the weekend. Hosting their final home game of the 2019 season on Sunday, Indiana squared off against Purdue for the annual Golden Boot trophy. Melanie Forbes scored the first goal of the contest by either team to put the Hoosiers up 1- in the seventh minute. Two goal Purdue goals would go answered as Indiana fell to the Boilermakers, 2-1. IMMEDIATE IMPACT • Four freshmen have earned starts so far this season – Alaina Kalin, Avery Lockwood, Bria Telemaque and Jaimie Tottleben. In addition, sophomore transfer Oliwia Wos has also started each of the first five contests. • Lockwood and Kalin each scored their first career goals on Sunday. Kalin added her first career assist, as did freshman Jaimie Tottleben and sophomores Madeline Carlson and Megan Wampler. NEWS AND NOTES • Indiana has shut out seven opponents this season. The Hoosiers have kept UIC, Morhead State, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, and Ohio State all scoreless. This is the most shutouts in a single season since 2013 when the Hoosiers had nine. • After a shutout against Ohio State on Oct. 13, junior goalkeeper Bethany Kopel became the program's all-time shutouts leader with 16 in her career. In addition, her 228 saves are tied for second all-time at Indiana, while her 18 victories tie for fifth. • Freshman Avery Lockwood was named to Top Drawers Soccer's Freshmen Top 100 on Oct. 14. Lockwood checked in at 43rd on the list. In her freshman campaign, she leads the Indiana offense with four goals, two assists, and 10 points. UP NEXT •Indiana Women's Soccer will await their post season fate. If the Hoosiers win or tie the Spartans on Wednesday, they will earn a spot in the tournament. Indiana currently sit in the seventh seed spot with 11 points. Three other teams also have 11 points, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Purdue.
