I had a nice conversation with a guy at church today (he knows I'm a huge IU fan). He said- "Sure is great about the football team. Proud of those boys. Good to see our Hoosiers doing well". I thought about this today- this mass majority of fans don't care about efficiency, who is quarterbacking, lack of discipline, etc. Other than this microcosm of fans that dissect every single part of the game, most only care about the outcome. Not saying that it's wrong to want to clean it up, but to act like the world is ending because of it is just silly. The best part of what he said? "Our Hoosiers", not Penix's Hoosiers, not Ramsey's Hoosiers, not Allen's Hoosiers, but Our Hoosiers.

You’ve posted far more trolling posts than Boiler. He’s generally a level headed poster who is happy to discuss both teams. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Quoted: Indiana at Purdue Story Links BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana's game at Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket on Saturday, Nov. 30, will kick off at noon EST and be televised on ESPN2. Each week, we compile quotes and storylines from the past week and preview the upcoming one. BLOOMINGTON, IN - NOVEMBER 23, 2019 - Indiana Hoosiers Football team during the game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN. Photo By Lauren Bacho/Indiana Athletics Head Coach Tom Allen "Got a great opportunity this week. Obviously, a chance for win number eight, more importantly the Bucket. That is a huge priority here in our program. Our guys understand that. All of our new guys are growing to understand that as they're here now with us. Want to do a great job of preparing. Very, very good football team that we're going to get their very best shot. Coach Brohm has done a great job there. They've had some injuries throughout the year, like most of us have. Bottom line is that they're going to play extremely hard, play extremely well, have a good plan. We'll have to play our very, very best on the road to get this very important win for our program." BLOOMINGTON, IN - NOVEMBER 23, 2019 - quarterback Peyton Ramsey #12 of the Indiana Hoosiers during the game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN. Photo By Missy Minear/Indiana Athletics QB Peyton Ramsey "It hurt last year for sure, just because of everything that was at stake. There was probably a little bit extra added to that game. But just having the opportunity to go back out and play in another Bucket game is exciting. A rivalry game, always fun. It will be a fun week of prep. Thanksgiving week, just more time to spend with the guys and we're looking forward to it for sure." BLOOMINGTON, IN - NOVEMBER 02, 2019 - linebacker Reakwon Jones #7 of the Indiana Hoosiers during the game between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN. Photo By Andrew Mascharka/Indiana Athletics LB Reakwon Jones "This rivalry, coming from Florida, I didn't know much about it. But after I witnessed and was there after they ran across the field and took the Bucket from us physically, there's nothing else to say." BLOOMINGTON, IN - SEPTEMBER 07, 2019 - wide receiver Nick Westbrook #15 of the Indiana Hoosiers during the game between the Eastern Illinois Panthers and the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN. Photo By Ben Green/Indiana Athletics WR Nick Westbrook "Obviously frustrated (with performance against Michigan) knowing we could have come out and performed a lot better. But it's in the past and we have a great opportunity, a game that everyone can definitely rally around and get behind. A lot of motivation to get this win this upcoming week. Flush it, learn from the mistakes. We've done that in the past and look forward to doing it again." BLOOMINGTON, IN - NOVEMBER 23, 2019 - defensive back Khalil Bryant #29 of the Indiana Hoosiers during the game between the Michigan Wolverines and the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN. Photo By Lauren Bacho/Indiana Athletics S Khalil Bryant "Really flush it and move on to the next week. You know this is a big-time game, lot of passion going into this game, so we're just trying to get the job done." BLOOMINGTON, IN - SEPTEMBER 21, 2019 - offensive lineman Hunter Littlejohn #68 of the Indiana Hoosiers during the game between the Connecticut Huskies and the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN. Photo By Ben Green/Indiana Athletics C Hunter Littlejohn "It's really special. Just the fact that you have such an important trophy within it too is something you really look forward to and I think a lot of guys on the team right now who are playing, weren't necessarily key contributors the last time we won this game. It's a game we're going to be really hungry for and we're looking forward to it." Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2022) PF Jalen Washington to UNC
mamasa replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
GARY — Jalen Washington will miss his sophomore season with a knee injury, West Side coach Chris Buggs confirmed. The Cougars forward landed awkwardly at practice earlier this week. He was on the bench for West Side’s game with Bowman in the Lakeshore Classic Friday. “He’s really in our spirits. We’re praying for him,” Buggs said. “His spirits are up. He’s doing OK, surprisingly. He’s very strong mentally. He’s already started rehab.” Washington is ranked in the top 20 in the Class of 2022 nationally by all the major recruiting websites. He was expected to be among the state’s most productive players this season. He wasn’t available for comment Friday. “We feel good about our group, feel good about guys stepping up. But it’s going to take us some time to adjust,” Buggs said. “They understand that it’s time to step up. We use the mantra ‘strength in numbers,’ so we can be ready for a situation when we’re a man short.” It’s the second major injury in as many years for Washington, who missed almost all of his freshman campaign with a broken shoulder suffered in the first game last season.
