    Non zero chance I'd be looking for a serious program too, hate to say that because I grew up watching IU games with my dad and loved the program. They were so laughably unserious when they hired Woodson to begin with, keeping him for a 5th year would just prove they have no intention of actually winning anything ever again.

    Thomas was a terrible coach and executive. So that just confirms Woodson ain't it.

    You mean retirement? This is IU, they'll let him retire instead of doing the right thing so they don't look like they fired a guy that played here forever ago. They don't care he never should've been hired and it was doomed to fail.

    As concerned as IU is about the stupid optics there's a very real chance they'd say "we can't fire a guy that played here and has 3 tournaments in 4 years". They've lowered the standards so much that just making a 68 team field warranted a raise. The more losses now the better for the program long term; assuming IU makes a serious hire, which is another matter.

    Indiana doesn't need help mismanaging the men's basketball program, they've been quite effective at that the last 25 years. Don't give them ideas.
