  1. I do too. A hire like that would be nice after the clown show we've seen the last 25 years. I could possibly see her being more willing with only one child at home, and if she thinks this could be his last chance. If IU makes a good hire, it could be; another like the last 2 duds he could have a shot in 4 years.
  2. I forgot that his son was in HS at the time. Just mentioned it because I could see his wife being hesitant to uproot their daughter again, of course one could say the same for Brad who was the alleged yes vote.
  3. And Stevens is a guy that turned down a high paying job at, and left, Eli Lilly to be a volunteer assistant coach.
  4. McNeese would have to want him to be their coach. Not happening, just like every other program and NBA franchise.
  5. Well 4 years ago the hire was so resoundingly awful you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a joke. If they once again go with someone that literally no one else is stupid enough to hire then yes there will rightfully be a meltdown. An actual serious hire? I'd expect a different reaction from many.
  6. 4 years later the fire thread is nearing 2000 pages. The best thing about the hire lasted 1 year.
  7. Supposedly last time they took a family vote and he lost 2-1. If true, who knows where his family is at now. If his daughter is still in HS she likely has friends she wouldn't want to leave.
  8. Leave Ferguson out completely, so he doesn't tick anyone else off.
  9. Yeah, Davis continued working his way down the ladder after leaving IU. Sampson is the only legitimately good coach we've had in the last 25 years and he actually was winning. Hmm, almost like IU can win with a good coach.
  10. Indiana didn't end any of their careers. Being awful at Georgia ended Crean's. Miller went to Rhode Island and has won 43% of his games. Woodson's head coaching career ended in 2014 because he's a lousy coach; Indiana was just dumb enough to see that as a green flag.
  11. It was completely undeserved, and all he did was meet what expectations should be. Even without that raise he'd be overpaid, Chris Jans is making 3.2.
  12. We know it shows that Woodson is WAAYYY overpaid. 13th highest paid, IU is getting robbed blind.
  13. Wait till the we want Dusty chants start.
  14. He's currently in the process of burning water.
  15. I'm not sure Stevens is the grand slam he used to be, but "Indiana basketball hires Brad Stevens" is still a headline would send shockwaves through college hoops and an "oh crap" from several fanbases.
  16. He seriously out kicked his coverage.
  17. Didn't realize that. I was wrong on his national titles, just 4, but he was still just dominant.
  18. Other coaches had success at Dayton just to bomb elsewhere, not that unusual with them. McCollum was DII, sure, but absolutely dominated, won 81% of his games; had 3 seasons where he didn't atleast tie for the conference lead (those were in his first 4 seasons), and 6 where he didn't atleast make the DII Sweet 16 oh and 5 national titles and several COY awards. Now has Drake at 20-2 with some wins over high majors. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_McCollum All he did was win.
  19. As skeptical as I am, I'd love for IU to finally hire a big dog and say "we're done screwing around", especially after saying "we couldn't possibly be less serious" by hiring Woodson. There are fanbases that don't want IU to make a big time hire and get this turned around.
  20. Kind of crazy there were only 3 years in DII where he didn't atleast tie for 1st in conference and 6 times where he didn't get to atleast the DII Sweet 16.
  21. His contract is expiring, August of this year.
  22. What's wrong with some people having hope? Especially if it distracts from the fact this is the only program poorly managed enough to hire Mike Woodson.
  23. There wasn't a single world where it made sense to hire him, but here we are.
  24. Needs time to get his players? I could see his 3 remaining fans saying that. They were also convinced his atyle of play would be different.
  25. In this era I could see a GM type role happening in basketball, some football programs have one IIRC, but Stevens and May? No chance. I'd take Stevens
