(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU
Stuhoo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Bingo. And, isn't getting a degree which leads to a great job the reason a person goes to college after all? -

Guys - if you have been paying close attention to both this board and to what the staff has been saying, you would have a pretty good idea that Devonte Green has been conspicuously absent from any positive side talk during this off-season. -

If Archie thought that he would be coming off the bench for four years, or that he would not have the ability to make an impact long before that, he would not have recruited Jake Forrester. -

The "6'8" with three 5*s in the same lineup Forrester" was a three star player. The "6'10" featured Forrester" will be a solid 4* by the time he arrives at IU. -

I think there is also a real chance that Juwan will have his degree after this year and go, thereby freeing up one ride unexpectedly. -
Indiana at Virginia - Saturday 9/9 @ 3:30 ET on ESPNU

While my power is still on in S Fla I'll try to weigh in: Zander was 5'11, 185. He was never going to realistically last in a game long enough to complete 16 passes. Ramsey does not have a great arm, but of course he throws it better than Zander; that's a low standard. Ramsey is not the quick burst highlight possibility runner that Zander was, but he's not bad and at least I don't fear for his personal safety when he's in the game. Ramsey did a really nice job with his decision making today. Especially for his first game. Hell, for any game. Most importantly, though I'm sure that Coach DeBoard will tailor his offense to the personnel he has, it is very well established that he prefers a combo-running qb to a pure dropback passer. Sooooo...welcome to the Peyton Ramsey era it would seem. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Nope. It's not. -
And, in theory, this defense is much less likely to put him on an island guarding without help from the lane packline
-
If DeRon is out, who comes in the game is more than a little dependent on who we're playing, and on how much weight we can put on CMoore.
-
Not to be snotty, but ^^this model^^ is not how it works. Expect eight or nine guys to get minutes in any game that matters or is remotely close. Five starters and three or four interchangeable backups. It's "the rotation guys", not who comes in for a specific position. For instance, if Collin starts instead of CuJo, I expect Cujo to be first in, no matter who comes out. If CuJo starts instead of Collin, I expect Collin to be first in, no matter who comes out. That style will not be an absolute, but it will be generally true. I expect the rotation guys to be: RoJo, Juwan, DeRon, Collin, Josh, CuJo, Justin, and either DeVonte or Al, and either Freddie or Clifton. That's nine, and that'll about do it.

Does IU have any interest after getting Phinisee? No. Or just keep targeting Garland. Yes.

I'm with you.

Gonna be a lot of 8-12 win teams in the B1G this year. We will be one of em. If we're on the good side of that pack life will be lovely.
-
The toughest non-conference schedule in the B1G + Archie's first year as an attractive story line = us in the tourney with 19 wins.

Seems as though Curtis Jones just might be the president of the IUBB "I'm glad Tom Crean's not my coach" fan club.

(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
Stuhoo replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Trayce will be a true big in college. Already a legit 6'9" and still growing, and has a big frame. -
Yes! I'm thinking that it is very likely that we start three guards. Very likely. I also think that Hartman will play starters minutes as the sixth man.
-
Starting. With Hartman as the 6th man. That's what I envision CuJo doing this season.

Oh no, not really - his mom and stepdad are his by far most involved parents and who he lives with. His stepdad was who took him on his IU visit. His mom and dad are Karla and Ray Jackson, and apparently Mr. Jackson has been an engaged parent to the level where Trayce hyphenated his last name to reflect that. In fact, I'm gonna assume that Mr. Jackson is Chief Jackson of the Center Grove Police Department - impressive gentleman if it is so: CHIEF RAY JACKSON Police Experience Chief Jackson graduated at the top of his class from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy (class 329) in 2002. Jackson is also a special investigator and has worked corporate fraud cases over the years. Education/Certifications Chief Jackson graduated from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. He attended Washington State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. Chief Jackson is certified in the following: Department of Education DARE Certified Instructor Department of Education Certified School Safety Specialist National Criminal Justice graduate (certified) in School Violence CPR- Keepin it Real Certified Instructor Athletics Chief Jackson played basketball, football, track and volleyball at Mater Dei High School.
