  1. I don't like that you don't like Raftery.
  2. Justin Smith is very much a plus defender, and he seems to be learning how to avoid his trouble spots on offense. DeRon Davis is starting to look more athletic (for him). His defensive hedging and recoveries are MUCH better. And, he finishes well at the rim. DeVonte Green, Zach McBobbers, and Al Durham are all plus defenders. Damezi? Ohhhboy he was not good.
  3. On offense, yes. On defense he is consistently a net-positive, and one of the players that consistently causes the opponent to turn the ball over.
  4. Zion Williamson, Kipper Nichols, six of one, half a dozen of the other... people mix those two up all the time!
  5. New slogan: "Jumping Jacks. The steroids of calisthenics."
  6. Uh-oh. You're thinking like me. Better up your meds. ;)
  7. Don't have my hopes up on Trendon, but I very much like the fact that Keion Brooks seems to be actively selling the idea of players joining him and Trayce at IU.
  8. Yes! That is exactly what the Cleveland Browns have been doing: W / L 2008 2008 NFL AFC North 4th 4 12 0 2009 2009 NFL AFC North 4th 5 11 0 2010 2010 NFL AFC North 3rd 5 11 0 2011 2011 NFL AFC North 4th 4 12 0 2012 2012 NFL AFC North 4th 5 11 0 2013 2013 NFL AFC North 4th 4 12 0 2014 2014 NFL AFC North 4th 7 9 0 2015 2015 NFL AFC North 4th 3 13 0 2016 2016 NFL AFC North 4th 1 15 0 2017 2017 NFL AFC North 4th 0 16 0 2018 2018 NFL AFC North 3rd 7 8 1
  9. Combine these two posts and I believe we've hit the nail on the head.
  10. CuJo is scoring a bit, but on 36% shooting from the floor, and with more turnovers than assists. Tore it up against Central Arkansas and Texas A&M Community College (though that 23 point game against Cent Ark was on 6-14 shooting), and was a combined 2-9 shooting in reduced minutes against Nebraska and Iowa State. In the first conference game last night his playing time decreased quite a bit. 11. Barely playing, not helping. CuJo jus’ plain old don’t have it.

  13. It seems to me that based on our current personnel, we should be looking to open the field for our best offensive weapon, Scott. I’m no football coach, but common practice to free up a big back is to throw downfield a bit more than usual to keep safeties out of the box. Throwing frequent dink and dunk passes only squishes in the defense, and exacerbates the problem. Course ya need a receiver or two that can get downfield and a qb with arm strength to pull it off.
  14. I’ve refereed basketball through high school rec and baseball, and flag football at IU intramural. Basketball is by far the most difficult to do well; very dependent on your partners and multiple places to focus on constantly, with subjective calls in all places.
  15. Refereeing well is a REALLY difficult task, and it is attempted by flawed human-like people. Sooooo... stuff routinely goes less than as well as fans would like. And that is a largely unalterable reality.
  16. Not as bad as I thought- maybe row 30. ;)
  17. FAU lost to Bethune Cookman and Arkansas St, but they were good enough to beat Illinois in Champaign. Oh, and FAU was missing their best player.
  18. Put her in balcony seats
  19. Like Vonleh with a much better supporting cast and no three point shooting? That'll do for me, cause that’d make us a top five team if Romeo returns.
  20. Checking in for the first time tonight to say: Devonte Green is having a spectacularly good defensive game.
