We lose the opener of the series 6-2.  We just can't get a starting pitcher to give us any meaningful innings.  Decker-Petty started and only made it through 2 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, 1 BB and 2 WP.  Rushing came in for 2 innings and allowed another 2 runs followed by Vogel, Keyster & Shaw.  Collectively they gave up 10 hits 2 BB; 4 WP and 1 HBP.   According to @ashifron Butler pitchers allow nearly double digit runs per game and allowed less than 6 just twice.  After this game it's now three times.

We managed just 6 hits, Taylor our only batter with at least 2.

Hoosiers bounce back with an 11-2 win behind Bothwell's 8 innings of great pitching.  Scattered 6 hits.  The only runs scored by Butler came on a 2-run HR.  Bothwell struck out 8 and did not walk a batter throwing 97 pitches.   Kraft pitched the final inning.

We pounded out a dozen hits with 4 Hoosiers getting 2 apiece.  Cerny and Taylor each 3 RBI.  Mathison and Tibbitts 2 each.

Hoosiers showed no mercy winning 22-3 with the game played under the 10-run mercy rule.

Connor Foley who was exceptional last weekend was exceptional again today.  Pitched 3-hit ball for 5.2 innings, struck out 9, walked 3 throwing 100 pitches.

Hoosier bats with 20 hits.  Mitchell 3-4 with 6 RBI that included a grand slam HR.  Wiggins 4-4 and 3 RBI.  Oliver 2-4 and 4 RBI.

Expect today's second game to start 5:00-5:15.

Used up all our hits in the first game and only got 6 in game 2 and were beaten 8-5.  And Cerny 2-5 and Olive 3-4 were basically the extent of our batting prowess in the game.  Butler collected 10 hits and 5 BB off of 5 IU pitchers.  Tonghini started and went 3 innings followed by Keyster, Phillips, Buhr and Risedorph the latter charged with the loss.

Tuesday night Hoosiers (15-14) host Indiana State (20-5) who waxed us 2 weeks ago in Terre Haute by a score of 15-7.  Next weekend we're at College Park to play the Twerps (20-7) (3-2).
