  1. Jesus Christ dude . We’re talking about a 19-20 year old kid . Take a deep breath Go touch some grass . I’m not Ryan Carr’s assistant anything it’s just a free message board . no idea why fell out of rotation though I think it’s pretty well established on the board the thoughts on Collins as a coach . Again I said in the post he’d definitely be a bench guy but he showed flashes as a freshman with multiple 20 point games was a great prep player in a tough conference in Indy . Would a Multi year locale on your bench that could develop with a high ceiling not better than a couple of Eastern European clowns who saw even fewer min? My goodness .
  2. Former Ben Davis CG KJ Windham in the portal after 2 years at NW . Watched the kid a ton in HS a very high ceiling. Tough hard nosed MIC guard. IU desperately needs a kid like this off the bench .
  3. DeVries bolts for Iowa or Iowa State if either open ……….. Kelvin Sampson come on down big guy ! Let’s finish what you started and go ahead and make all the calls and texts you want and here’s 10 million to bring all of Houston with you. lol
  4. Man perfect fit and great coach good for the Bearcats went to college in Cincy they LOVE college hoops down there hope it works out
  5. The Nos come for different reasons . Matt Painter is probably our coach if Bob Knight recruits him in HS lol but Purdue its Alma Mater. Gard has never step foot outside Wisconsin Izzo been at the place for 30 + years Just because they wouldn't leave for each individual reason doesn't change the perception of the job.
  6. Interesting IMO: Izzo, Painter, Gard, Underwood are the NOs Dusty under the current circumstances is a no BUT look at Calipari leaving UK for Arkansas. There may come a time when Dusty has run his course at UM you never know but that would be years and years down the line. Everyone else would is a yes *Altman might not only because of how close he is to retirement.*
  7. You say IU is the leper of college basketball when it comes to college basketball coaches. Yet the Big Ten coaches literally voted this year that its the 2nd best job in the conference. The conference itself is arguably the best / 2nd best conference in America ? So how did that happen?
  8. let me guess this was a Jeff Rabjohns "Inside the locker room" story LOL why do so many take these stories as the gospel? I refuse to believe that he didn't have access to his office at IU from day 1. But if he didn't? That's on Scott Dolson. Woodson is gone and a new coach has been hired stop tippy toeing around the situation. If Woodson wouldn't get out hire movers and send to his place in ATL he was there more anyway .
  9. Louisville Star Freshman Mikel Brown Jr is OUT this week vs USF . Will also miss round 2 game should the Cardinals advance. USF was a popular pick for an upset as it was but I'm riding with U of L and Indianapolis Pike's own Ryan Conwell to have a legacy game vs his former team finally getting his chance at an NCAA tourney.
  10. I'm and most are not saying he's on the hot seat after year one or moving forward. Its just kind of an odd situation his is interesting because of his one year at WVU. Truthfully I was a little harsh on judging it earlier this week, but its odd in sense that he isn't technically a mid major coach taking his first swing at the Power 4 level, his 1 year at WVU certainly was NOT bad enough to label him an failure (or this year at IU for that matter) but on this day last year it didn't make me feel as oh heck yeah this guy is gonna be a solid power 4 coach capable of building a solid consistent program. But again if he even marginally improves he makes the tourney and cool showing improvement and I'll be happy but right now my fear is it gets worse I'm NOT saying I think that's what is going to happen. Truthfully his next month / month and half will be telling. and at the end of it I might agree with you on everything.
  11. And I don't disagree with the majority of what your saying I know this isn't my father IU basketball program. Truthfully you may personally know more about money tiers than I do though again I'm personally not buying I would put us in top 25-30 of resources. Heck they surveyed Big 10 coaches this year and IU was still voted as a Top 5 job in the Big 10 they wouldn't have done that if they didn't have idea of the money IU is putting in compared to the rest of the nation. Again I agree were not a great or good program right now. Its DDV job to make it that and establish his culture and momentum, and maybe he can I just don't think it should take 4 years to make the NCAA tourney too many cases of programs with much less and not in much better position in terms of culture say otherwise so 3 more years of something similar to this year I think would be evidence enough that DDV isn't good enough coach for the Big Ten. Complacency can kill a program as much as turnover can. I will say this if DDV even marginally improves then we make the tourney cool you won't hear me complain heck ill be happier even if he gets bounced in the First Four next year. IU was capable of making the tourney as an expectation this time last year and is capable of that heading into next year.
  12. Oh ok I got you and I'm sorry I was just making a light hearted joke honestly wasn't mad if it had got deleted probably should have been haha I was rambling that day. The Burn of selection Sunday was still fresh. The Mods and people who run this board do a fantastic job nothing but respect.
  13. Well I have to be careful already been deleted this week for not "Staying on topic" . I know everyone wants to argue numbers inflated or not , but too many first year coaches as you state "middle of the conference tier programs" are doing just that. IU has the resources of a top tier team maybe not 1-5 or even 6-10 but its top 25 and I'm not even saying we should be a top 25 team or top 5 in the Big10 and now when that's now irrational to win .588? no way Its been proven time and again win 20 games and your in, I'm not saying it isn't hard but for even a halfway competent coach and staff with the portal and resources of IU that's a rational goal no one can convince me otherwise We said it for years with football no reason (despite the lack of history) IU couldn't been a 7-8 win Bowl game program on a regular basis. And Obviously the Cig thing in football is as RARE as ANYTHING that has ever happened in the history of sports. I in no way shape or form thought DDV needed to or would accomplish ANYTHING close to what Cig did in year one. I think 20 wins and at least making the NCAA tourney is the basketball equivalent of going 7-5 in football. Maybe DDV is that a good coach and the things mentioned about staff and roster construction were legit issues and he is able to accomplish this or more for the foreseeable future. I just personally don't think he deserves the lack of criticism and accountability the media and many others are giving him. I don't think his or Dolson comments were wrong and I'm glad they acknowledged them and talked about the issues he had this year but I just think they were also a little passive. Just hoping to see a little more sense of urgency and energy? I guess. Again maybe I'll feel differently in and month, 6 months, or a year. I haven't seen enough to make me think I will. Just so I don't get deleted . Drew Adams, Rod Clark , Kenny Johnson haha
  14. Man I'd love to see Dwayne Stephens on staff, didn't work out for him at WMU but a dude who spent years grinding in the Big Ten with Izzo and time with Crean at Marquette. He would be invaluable. Honestly could see him going back to MSU. Fanbase putting a lot of pressure on Carr and Clark which is unfair IMO but we tend to grasp at straws when things don't go well. As I've stated before its never been easier to win 20 games and make the NCAA tourney at IU. Don't wanna hear anything about roster make up, timing with portal, assistants this or that. If that doesn't happen in 2027 its solely on DDV.
  15. Providence people thought he was ready to come back if Providence had retained English, he wont follow English to a lower level but if English ends up as Power 4 assistant then he could follow ? If not I think that puts Tennessee in the drivers seat with English coaching under Barns. BUT did Clark and English overlap at Tennessee at all? If so could at least get IUs foot in the door. Also can never discount Arizona and Illinois when it comes to Euro kids
