Really makes him that much more impressive of a coach if you ask me ! Lol
-
Year 1 took final four UCLA to the wire in the round of 32 . flipped generational in state talent Eric Gordon was a stellar 22-4 (despite the fact that supposedly every player besides Gordon and White were on drugs) . When he was fired . Whipped Purdue. Everything you could want in a ball coach ! Haha all other violations are now legal . Probably less controversial of a hire than Beard lol SD had an Ace up his sleeve this whole time boys !

Maybe his brings Lewis down from Muncie? Top assistant. IU guy can definitely help recruit the state he hasn’t been exactly killing it a Ball State as the HC .

I put McDermott and Collins in their own tier , I wouldn’t be thrilled and talking smack to my Purdue buddies BUT I’d be intrigued to see how it plays out . obviously both would be massive coaching upgrades to our previous 2 head coach’s BUT they clearly fall short of a Stevens , Dusty , Drew grand slam of a hire . But I could see it going well . Collins in particular I think would recruit the state well . He’s already nabbed more than a few under the radar recruits from the state (the kid from Greensburg can’t remember his name , Barnhizer , KJ Windham ) . if you won’t touch Beard and Cronin says no . If you get passed those 2 as well . Then anyone else who’s been brought up (Brownell, McCollum and so on ) then I’m not sure if Dolson is a religious man BUT you might wanna start praying sir !

I think him and his little Igor like cronie Eric (pun intended he loves Mick ) have lost their meaningful sources / contacts in and around the athletic department. if you read all Rabjohns updates it’s clear he gets all his info from agents . Of course they are going to push their candidates names and help them get paid. That’s why I think Brownell keeps getting brought up . just went to an elite 8 , completing for the ACC title . His “Home state school” is open I think they are trying to get a fat pay day out of Clemson . Up his buyout big time so he’s off the perennial hot seat .

Jeezus his buyout doesn't go down till April 1st if IU still doesn't have a coach the last week of March I shudder to think what these boards will look like LOL CHOAS

We also don't know for sure Brad said "I'm not a candidate for the IU job. Jeff may have asked "hey your not a candidate for the IU job for real are you?" Then Brad gave him his quote. Also entirely possible Jeff added the Not a candidate on his own because he enjoys antagonizing the IU fan base because they fired his little podcast buddy Archie. I personally think Goodman is a CLOWN

Heard over on Trillys discord Bill Self rumors are starting to fly, in recent days I've started to think he might be a Dark horse candidate? The more Kansas loses this season the more realistic it becomes. Kansas fans want Nate Oats BAD and he would leave Bama in a heartbeat for KU. Self would have the same set of resources that he does at Kansas same national exposure but with a fanbase and administration that at least for 4-5 years are gonna be happy with a top half of Big Ten and just stabilize the program by getting the tourney every year. And if one year you go on a run ? Well you go out as the savior of one of the proudest brands in college hoops. Could be his coaching career swan song?

Interesting he just went on barstools PMT yesterday (Came out today) was asked about the IU job he said if he was Dolson he wouldn't even look at anyone else and hire Chris Beard. He said Beard is a top 3 coach in the country and is exactly what IU needs and would have IU in the top 5-7 in the country every year. Wonder what kind of favor Pitino owed Beard? LOL I thought maybe they were represented by the same agency but I guess Pitinos agent is the famous Drew Rosenhaus

Man I was on my honeymoon in 2016 when the news broke IU hired Archie I was so pissed (Obviously I bought the Billy Donovan rumors hook, line, and sinker) . Called Archie the mid-major flavor of the month. LOL We left on on a cruise the next day didn't have internet till we got to the resort in Mexico, saw Archie hired Flint and Schilling. Apparently spent the rest of my trip drunkenly lecturing poor innocent people at the swim up open bar how BACK IU basketball was according to my wife. LOL

Long time listener first time caller ........... not an insider sorry to disappoint. I wanna believe as much as the next person Stevie to IU BUT of course I'm very skeptical. I'm wondering if it is indeed NOT Brad what the infamous "reason" will be this time around? aka the "3-1 family vote of 2021" If I had to guess I bet it will "come out" brad met with his son after the Louisville game on All Star weekend he became very impassioned by Micah Shrewberry post game rant and is committed to helping turn Notre Dame around. A Big part of the selling point for Stevens was the chance to coach his son at IU who now wants to stay at ND or something to that affect haha it is a fun wave to ride until to comes crashing down Oh well might as well enjoy nothing else to do as this search drags out. I will say I did notice and thought it was interesting about the coordinated media discussion yesterday about IU hiring the search firm, I assumed they were doing that anyway given the timing of the search clearly multiple media people were asked to put out there and discuss it.
