  1. This friggin’ program man. So badly run.
  2. Yea, it sure seems like some people in the program have been putting out this narrative the last year or so to anyone who will listen: Woody is good and it's everyone else's fault, notably the fans. Hopefully the new coach/staff gets rid of whoever is spreading the aforementioned narrative that produces the Tymes, SDBs, and other similar posters around the boards. Anyone inside the program thinking this way doesn't understand leadership/accountability and is toxic.
  3. I know this post references Dolson not hiring an interim coach, but I'll chime in and say I think Scott can break our losing steak with bball coaches and get the next one right. Scott has been at IU forever. Working at IU isn't exactly the ideal place to learn how to be a great AD, but it appears he's figured it out over the past few years, sometimes the hard way unfortunately, but that's life. I know he constantly seeks to learn more from more experienced ADs at other schools and he keeps in touch with coaching targets well in advance of coaching searches (/wink). That's a sign of a good leader/executive. One benefit of being at IU for such a long time is Scott has seen a lot of mistakes, A LOT! -- from the search committee interviewing no one and hiring Davis to whatever Glass missed when he hired Archie (and Wilson and Allen). He knows who/what to avoid. And in fairness he's seen some good non-rev sport hires too. I'm optimistic he knows what sort of bball coach candidate will work at IU. It certainly appears he figured out what football coach would do well here, and that was a harder task than what he faces with bball. In the end, Scott is all we have at IU to fix basketball. We've seen the serious incompetence and conflicts from those outside the athletic dept. Fortunately, I think their influence is materially diminished. I get being pessimistic with bball hires, it's hard to argue with the history, but there are reasons to be optimistic that Scott gets the next one right.
  4. Good. Time to enforce contracts. Players are getting paid big money, which is great; but now they need to act like pros. It will be nice with the House Settlement is finalized and a lot of this uncertainty ends.
  5. Spot on. And in the end this is all entertainment and an optional part of the IU fan experience.
  6. In my opinion this is what message boards are for. Little bits of info get posted and yes posters need to piece it together for themselves and figure out what’s likely true or not. I prefer this to waiting for the IndyStar or HT to run an article. For example, the boards have been all over Buckner and Ferguson for years vs Doyel finally writing about it this week.
  7. At worst Woody has a winning 5-4 conference record going into the Maryland game at home. If he wants to coach, and he will, I can’t imagine IU not letting him, especially with Quinn and Steve around. He’s still trying to save his season.
  8. With our top-5 payroll $6M+ roster.
  9. The zone of pain. That win last night probably significantly reduces whatever chance there was at a midseason change. Woody has demonstrated he can still win games with this team, and while that's a depressingly low bar, it is enough to avoid getting replaced midseason. This is not enough of a meltdown to replace him. The next two games are not too hard either.
  10. Ooof. This is cringey. Just stay home dude.
  11. The “mass exodus” is back on.
  12. Spot on. Cig was huge, assuming he likely works out, which appears to be the case!, we've got the biggest and most important sport moving in the right direction. Cig also demonstrates the proper Org Chart. He reports to Scott, but also has a good relationship and support from Pam. I never hear about what donors or trustees want with FB, the donors just send money without a peep like they should, and the trustees stay out of it. We've got the blueprint. Time to implement it again with basketball.
  13. I suspect Scott and Pam need to show they’re in charge now and the stupid idiots are either gone (Quinn) or will be boxed into the background (other trustees/donors). The IU job has some great things going for it, but I’ve always worried coaches see how we manage our program and it’s a big negative.
  14. Yea. A raise is fine if Woody was performing exceptionally well. I don’t think he was. Kinda funny he got that extra $1M/yr and $4.2M higher buyout and then immediately after the wheels totally came off. Classic IU.
  15. It was, but the total buyout was increased by $4.2M at the same time.
  16. Yea. He hadn’t achieved anything notable and it wasn’t like another school was going to poach him (lol!!!).
  17. Woody’s $1M raise in 2023 after two years of doing the basics (one tourney win) was nonsense. It also increased his buyout, though it helps we can pay it out slowly, it’s still more money out the door. I’m sure Quinn was behind it — more money deposited to Mack Financial.
  18. Yea. May is far from a certainty.
  19. Yea it's public you can google it.
  20. Sweet. I'd love a great modern X's and O's coach. Plug him into our NIL and let's go. Just need Scott to make sure he translate to IU so we avoid an Archie situation.
  21. This is not even a January action item!!!
  22. Yea. We hire him all the articles about our new coach will include a note about the DV allegations. The pictures aren’t good if anyone looks at them. Not what IU wants. If he had another incident here, the people who took a risk on him may get fired.
  23. I’m talking about staying on the staff. Hulls is a winner. If the new coach does want him fine, it’s their choice.
  24. I get your point. IMO, telling his wife to leave the room in any circumstance is poor form and dumb. If it happened.
  25. Former cheerleader. Explained why he lost all that weight for a while… he was almost no longer Pork Chop. He got the weight back though.
