  1. I was chatting with some H-T/IndyStar people and they said their IUFB articles do much bigger numbers than IUBB. That does sounds like a "football school"... Whatever we are, I like it.
  2. 100%. I cannot wait to get out of this cycle of big rebuilds. It's bad for so many reasons.
  3. Yep. If we want to be the program we all hope we can be, this staff needs to take dudes like this and get a tune out of them early on (e.g., solid contributor) and then get them on a constant development path. Fingers crossed!
  4. Yea. The '27 HS class is gonna level up like our '26 portal class. It's awesome. One of the strangest feelings is normally I look at IUFB or IUBB or whatever as we need to do this or that to level up and achieve something higher. Well, IUFB has already achieved about everything possible in the '25 season, and now we're leveling up recruiting from what we had that won it all last season. It's genuinely an extraordinary situation. So much fun.
  5. Underperformed, flopped, whatever… they didn’t live up to the preseason expectations. And I’m being negative towards them since they’re sort of a rival. If I had to described IU I would say we floundered and languished. ;-)
  6. People thought UL had a great portal last year and they flopped. Still tbd with Pat.
  7. Big donors see two tourneys in ten years. Vs. IUFB? B1G Title, Rose, Peach, Natty. There is no comparison. It’s not like we don’t like football, we’ve just never had it. I think IU is funding MBB pretty darn well. If they can show a pulse the money will go up because I agree the passion is still there somewhere.
  8. Not sure on tax treatment. But I know overall IU is playing all the NIL “games.” Our football NIL is impressive. As an athletic dept we’re like $50M+ in total athlete comp vs the $21M rev share cap.
  9. Number confirmations are rare. There is inflation for sure. I think inflation adjusted we are still up a little over last season. Source: trust me bro :-)
  10. Last year was ~$10M, if we are around $13M that’s a nice 30% increase. Especially with a not so great first season. We need to inspire our donors with some results. That’s what football did. Make a S16 and I bet we get up over $15M for our bball roster. Frankly I find it amazing IUBB has what it has right now given the awful return in terms of wins IUBB donations have generated.
  11. Surprised, but probably mostly focused on the Spring game.
  12. I think that’s generally true, though this staff has only had a year here and I don’t think their rep is set in stone yet. We’ve got way more than I would like to explain away from last season, but this staff is still in a window where they can sell a vision. At least I hope. To be fair I don’t really know.
  13. IU isn’t in a great spot. But even in our current state we are still a bit more than just money. To get commits we need to sell fit with the roster, development plan, the staff, exposure, playing in AH, and facilities and all that. Some of this is still appealing. We aren’t entirely chopped liver.
  14. For sure. Trent is the man. 100% Hoosier and a throwback in the world of transfers and one year stints. He’s put up with a lot since his commitment. Hopefully it works out for him and he can contribute more and be on some good teams.
  15. Nah. Inflation isn’t that near that high. People are saying we are #10-15 in roster budget. Last year we were around #15. High level estimates of course that’s all we can do.
  16. We just need Scott to call his infinite sources of money and we’re back baby.
  17. Yea, for sure. But heck, if we are at around $13M this year, that’s up from $10M last year. Pretty generous after doing diddly poo last season.
  18. If this staff can’t make the tourney and start building a program with $13M or so, which is #10-15 in the country, we have the wrong staff. Giving them more money would be a waste. If IUBB wants more they need to show traction and justify it.
  19. Providence got $10M+ for their roster per reports. Big push for the new coach I guess. Probably why we see them popping up in different places this portal.
