  1. Absolutely. IU lost its best player to injury mid-season and the wheels came completely off. Did not do a good job of replacing Yogi, Newkirk was a disaster. As far as Archie goes, it didn’t matter. Lost the fan base after losing 12/13 games in year 2. He didn’t have a prayer after that. Was only a matter of time.
  2. Crean’s first 8-9 years very similar to Painter’s first 8-9 years. And Painter didn’t inherent a complete rebuild. Not talking out of my @$$ at all.
  3. We’ve never given a coach the chance to build, fail, learn, and then grow. We mock Purdue for many things, but look at Matt Painter. He struggled his first couple seasons, put together 3 very solid seasons, then went through a 4 year stretch with no tournament wins and a dead last place finish in the B10 to building one of the most consistent programs in the country. But we have no interest in doing that.
  4. That’s the problem. We determine a coach isn’t good because he doesn’t win overnight and then it’s over from there. Who thought after 3 seasons Crean was going to win two B10 titles and go to three S16’s in a 5 year period? If Crean was hired under normal circumstances he would have been long gone before then.
  5. In year 1? No. Completely overhauling the last 30 years of mediocrity and non-existent culture should be priority #1. If you win 20+ games, that’s a cherry on top. But it shouldn’t be the expectation that starts the seat warmer going into year 2. You guts act like I’m crazy but we’ve been doing the same **** over and over the last quarter century.
  6. Curious to hear who you think IU goes after once Stevens and May say no?
  7. And was our best coach by far. A shocking coincidence I tell you.
  8. Of course you can win big overnight, but that shouldn’t be the expectation or even the #1 priority year 1. Getting a guy in here who can establish a culture and identify 9-10 guys who all fit that culture should be the #1 priority. And then build from there. If it results in 15 wins, so be it. But we can’t or won’t accept that it make take 2 maybe 3 seasons until the old culture is completely overhauled. I know what we’ve done the last 25 or so years and it’s never worked.
  9. And you’d be firing off emails before he landed his first recruit.
  10. He went 18-15 year 1, won the SEC the following year and finished 2nd and 3rd the next two years. Quite praising Brownell just to spite Wade lol.
  11. Brad Brownell….You’re on the clock!
  12. Again, you don’t have the slightest clue as to what you’re talking about. He won the SEC during the 18-19 season, the year prior to the tournament being cancelled.
  13. You don’t have a clue as to what you’re talking about. Wade won the SEC in his 2nd year. He was fired prior to the NCAAT in his 5th season.
  14. Ehh disagree. IU falling further into irrelevancy with each passing year only adds to the desperation and increased noise. We want to try and replace the last 30 years overnight. It’s never going to happen. Better win and better win quick or you don’t have a prayer. It’s a vicious cycle.
  15. JFC. Will Wade has won a conference championship at P5 school. McNeese is a low major school currently 60th in KenPom. Brad Brownell is the epitome of average. If you don’t want to hire Will Wade because of his past transgressions, totally fine although I disagree with you. But somehow trying to paint a picture that Will Wade and Brad Brownell are on the same tier levels of coaching is the funniest thing I’ve read all day.
  16. Disagree. You’d have to actually want the IU job to get hired here.
  17. Is this where I tell you...you need better sources? Or do I need to wait 6 weeks?
  18. I wouldn't have paid for two degrees nor spend the amount of money I do on tickets and travel to watch IU if I didn't care. What kind of question is that? Being a realist doesn't change any of that.
  19. Brad Brownell hasn't won a conference title in almost 20 years. Are we seriously doing this? Brad Brownell has had one fluke tournament run in 15 years at a school with literally zero basketball expectations who would have been fired 3 or 4 times over by now if he coached anywhere that gave a damn. The fact that we're talking about Brad Brownell just to spite Will Wade is flat out ludicrous.
  20. Stick to your Stevens delusions, we're over here in the real world.
  21. Will Wade has won 3 conference titles at 3 different schools and taken 3 different schools to the tournament. He's also 42.
  22. If Will Wade won 25 games his first year here, not one single person would give a sh*t that Will Wade made a strong-@$$ offer 7 years ago on an FBI wiretap. And why would they? It's completely irrelevant in today's game. If our program isn't making strong-@$$ offers to recruits and transfers they aren't fit for the job.
  23. Well we are talking about hiring guys like Brad Brownell so you may have a point.
  24. If you want to defend the actions of the kids Sampson recruited, by all means you're free to do so. Zero interest in seeing that caliber of character in Bloomington ever again.
  25. Forgive me for thinking the guy who has a .500 winning % in-conference at Clemson over the last 15 years wouldn't come storming into Bloomington and kill it overnight. My bad.
