  1. Just wondering if word has made it back to coach Woodson that these kids and their families don't like Woodson's system, so Woodson isn't going to prioritize them.
  2. Wednesday night Woodson watched a triple header: Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD
  3. The Simon Charles X account was the same one that reported Sean Miller to Ohio State. It appears that it's not a reliable account.
  4. And we would still suck at rebounding.
  5. Getting a "proven" guy that's currently working at another P6 school is rare. I'm counting the Big East as the 6th conference. Looking at the current top 50 in Kenpom, there are only 5 coaches that meet this scenario where they took a P6 job when they were currently employed by a P6 school. Brad Underwood- Oklahoma State to Illinois Shaka Smart- Texas to Marquette Bill Self- Illinois to Kansas Jamie Dixon- Pitt to TCU Kevin Willard- Seton Hall to Maryland Underwood, Self, and Willard were obvious upgrades. Smart left Texas before the posse caught him. Dixon made a lateral move to his alma mater. The other top 45 teams in Kenpom either hired an unemployed coach, promoted from within, or hired a mid-major coach. To think that Bruce Pearl wants to leave a superior Auburn program to rebuild IU is a pipe dream, especially at the age of 64. He and his agent are using IU for leverage. Look, I would love Oats, but unless he's terribly unhappy at Alabama there's very little reason for him to move jobs. TJ Otzelberger is an up-and-coming P6 coach at Iowa State. He's never won the Big 12 or Big 12 Tournament, but he's made the NCAA Tournament. Is that "proven"? Would Otzelberger even consider the IU job as an upgrade? An up-and-coming mid-major coach may be our only option.
  6. Fixed it for you. LOL
  7. If Reneau is our 5, we are going to be a horrible defensive team next year. Malik is a very good low post scorer, but he is not a good defender and not a rim protector. imo, Reneau needs to be teamed with a stretch 5 and that person needs to be a rim protector.
  8. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but I interpret this to mean that moving on from Woodson after this year is more about who may be available than wins and losses from this point. So, if a big name that's a no-brainer becomes available the administration may act. Reminds me of the Cubs. They were going to stay with Renteria and then Joe Maddon became available or more recently Craig Counsell became available, so Ross was let go.
  9. BYU beat Kansas at Kansas 76-68. BYU hit 13 threes and Kansas hit 3 threes. IU could have told KU that is not a winning strategy.
  10. Yep. The seniors Walker and Leal getting the bench minutes. It took Woodson a while to figure it out, but in college, experience can be just as valuable as talent.
  11. Rough first game back for Xavier. He was -12 in the +/-. I noticed that in the game. He was trying to force everything instead of just taking his time to get in the flow of the game.
  12. Good win, although it's never good to lose a 15 point lead. We won the rebounding stat and free throws. Wisconsin won three-point shooting, but only by 2. Wisconsin won the turnover battle by 9 which is why the game was so close.
  13. Turnovers happening because we been forcing the ball inside when it's not open. We need to go back to a more balanced attack.
  14. I'd love to see the current +/-. I feel like we are playing worse with Xavier on the floor.
  15. My fear is that the big donors that support Woodson will say that it's cheaper to give more to NIL and buy Woodson a better team than to buy out his contract. Then we have to watch another talented but underperforming team again next year.
  16. Journalism and especially sports journalism is dead. It's all about the clicks. Sure, some statistics or facts may be occasionally incorporated in an article. Unfortunately, sports journalism these days is all about the hot take.
  17. Just wondering is Holtmann would be an option? Rumor was we were interested 3 years ago.
  18. I laughed, but it would be an upgrade.
  19. I hope coach A is Oats.
  20. Which scares me that the Dolson plan will involve Woodson coaching 1-2 more years and hiring an assistant coach that will be the announced successor. Any plan that involves Woodson returning doesn't excite me at all.
  21. Or Pearl is using IU as leverage to get a raise and have his son designated as the head coach in waiting at Auburn. Pearl has been at Auburn for 10 years. I'm sure that he and his wife have developed a lot of friends at Auburn. At 64, I don't see him wanting to pick up and start over again. I think the IU fanbase is getting way too excited about the Pearl rumors.
  22. Just as long as Dolson's plan doesn't include a raise and extension for coach Woodson.
  23. You rarely get the ideal coach at the perfect timing. Alabama hired Oats from Buffalo after a few good years. Tennessee hired Pearl from Milwaukee. A good AD should be able to project how a mid-major coach would project at his school with the improved resources. Glass missed on Archie. Fred Glass was a lawyer. Dolson has been around basketball for a long time. He should be able to be able to properly project how a mid-major coach could do at IU with our resources.
  24. John Beilein discussing Michigan State's struggles says it's hard to play two bigs. John Beilein On Michigan State's Struggles: 'It's Hard To Play Two Bigs' (msn.com)
  25. I agree. I think we win tomorrow as well. We matchup with Wisconsin fairly well. We just need to guard the three-point shooters or at least hope they miss.
