  1. I'll root for IU and I will support our players. I will let you know now that I'm going to be angry for a while. The fact that we didn't move to hire Dusty who could have been our coach for the next 15 years to hold onto Mike Woodson for another 2 or 3 really upsets me. Maybe Woodson makes a Sweet 16 and maybe Dusty ends up just being average at Michigan. Until either of these proves to be true, I'll assume our Administration is foolhardy and Woodson cost us by not stepping aside.
  2. I'm almost positive that Mike Woodson promised Chris Tucker that he will start next year. :)
  3. Tucker really didn't wait. Initially, Tucker had agreed to play for the Ignite in the G league. The NBA announced recently that they were not continuing the Ignite, so Tucker had to scramble and find a home. Fortunately, for us and Tucker there was a mutual need, and we have a large NIL pool.
  4. I like that On3 described Tucker as having a "natural basketball IQ". This is a big plus in my book.
  5. That's fine, but others were acting like we could get Tucker, Perkins, and Conwell. That's just not going to happen in a world were all three of these kids will require solid minutes to come to IU.
  6. Because we had Trayce and Race. One was an All-American and the other was a 6th year senior.
  7. I'm assuming Reneau will play the 4 again this year. That means portal center, Reneau, MgBako, Tucker, and a portal point guard. Galloway is going to play 25 minutes off the bench and will most likely play more minutes than Tucker this year. If Connel is not the starting point guard, he's looking at 12 minutes a game. Does anyone think Connell would come to play 12 minutes a game?
  8. Tucker is a wing. Most wings can play the small forward or the shooting guard role. He's now a Hoosier. Committed: IU basketball lands national top-20 class of 2024 5-star wing Bryson Tucker – The Daily Hoosier
  9. No announcement yet. I haven't seen MgBako listed in any recent mock drafts. Rumor still is that he'll make himself eligible so he can work out for teams and then return if he doesn't receive a draft promise from a team.
  10. 3 strikes and you come off the bench. :)
  11. This is Indiana. Mike Woodson definitely promises starting roles to players.
  12. That's definitely not the coach Woodson rule. :)
  13. You're correct, adding Perkins and Tucker as guaranteed starters to what we have would be a bad three-point shooting team. I just keep reading that people think all these portal guards are willing and come and sit at IU. We can get a starting point guard and a starting shooting guard. The backup guard minutes will be eaten up by Galloway, Leal, Newton, and Cupps.
  14. The Ringer has their new mock draft. Ware goes 21 and MgBako is not listed in the 2 rounds.
  15. What starting jobs? Reneau, MgBako, Perkins, and Tucker would all be promised starting jobs. That most likely leaves a center that will be promised a starting job. That leaves Galloway, Leal, Newton, and Cupps as backup guards. These players we're hoping for backup guards are going to want to play and be promised a certain number of minutes. That's not going to happen at IU if we get Perkins and Tucker. People on this board need to get realistic on what we can get.
  16. Assume that MgBako stays and we get Perkins and Tucker with both being promised starting roles as point guard and the shooting guard. Why would Sears, Conwell, or Hickman come to IU? They would be competing with Galloway, Leal, Newton and Cupps for backup minutes at the guard spots.
  17. I'm watching how we do in the portal. Word is out that IU is going to pay well, so I'm sure we'll add some very expensive and talented players. The key is whether we create a balanced team or just assemble a lot of good pieces that don't quite fit together. How many of these new pieces will be promised starting roles along with their big check? How will that affect team chemistry? Will Woodson change his system to fit the college game? If not, we'll underperform again next year like previous years, based on the talent on the roster.
  18. Yes, you're correct 12 million if we fire him this year that can be spread out 1 million a year for the next 12 years. I think 7.5 million next year which can be paid out 1 million a year.
  19. Speaking of this, where is KathywithaC? We haven't heard from her since she came to prep us for the bad news that Woodson was returning because something about "the wheels of progress move slowly on the IU campus".
  20. The buyout next year is just a million dollars. Granted it will be for 8 more years, but still just 1 million next year. I'm sure there's a wealthy alum that likes winning basketball more than wine and cigars that would pony up that amount.
  21. I wish Dolson would publicly set expectations for this next year. This is Woodson's 4th year. Imo, we need to be top 4 in the new 18 team Big Ten, in the Big Ten Tournament semis, and a Sweet 16 appearance. Anything short of that will be unsatisfactory in my opinion considering all the money that our NILs are spending (or willing to spend) on a roster.
  22. True, but Ware handled Wisconsin, Maryland, Minnesota, Michigan State, and Penn State during our 5-game win streak. He was truly a difference maker on both ends in those games. I think he learned from the butt whippings earlier in the year.
  23. He's a really good coach. The two questions are can he recruit ACC level players and can he withstand the Louisville pressure cooker?
  24. Bruce Thornton, but he's not in the portal yet.
  25. Chris has a stalker. Chris- Don't go straight home after work. Drive around in circles so you can shake any car tailing you.
