Loyer doesn’t close games anymore? Love to see it

Some unbelievable freshmen performances today. Flemings for Houston and Wagler for ILL has 40. Latter is averaging 16 a game for them and was ranked 150 in his class. I hate how much I enjoy watching Braden Smith play basketball.

Omar might declare for the draft so he never has to do that again -

Yeah, even without Omar the WR group is an embarrassment of riches as it stands. Two elite guys and then Morris/Preston who have talent and production -

Watching some season recap videos I had forgotten just how disruptive Wyatt was. Beast Carter Smith kind of announced his return during a post championship on-field interview right? Hopefully Tucker is back -
IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Portal Updates

Not that this is reliable in any way, but I’m seeing Omar being projected anywhere from back of the first round (CBS) to 4th round. Would be so huge to have him back, but if he’s confident he’ll be picked by round 3 he should go for it -
Agree with you there ;)
-
Sure. I generally agree. He gets 3 years regardless. Just as my interest truly wanes in the program (thank you Cig), hopefully the financial investment in basketball also gets re-distributed to other programs that have shown results. Doesn’t mean handcuff him after one year, but another year like this of grossly mismanaging funds… I’ll re-engage when there’s a product worth watching. AD/boosters should think the same.

It’s not consistent with how most feel. After two tourneys in 9 years, most of us would just like to safely be in more times than not. Like many of our lower-spending peers in conference.
-
Repeatedly being upper echelon in player spending and missing the 68 team tournament is a problem of coaching. If not in next year…would be three straight misses while also having a top 15 spend on player salaries. Theres grounds to can him if he misses next year but they’ll give him a third, which I’d think is fine. It’s all hypothetical but safe to say this season’s a bust
-
My only hope for DDv this year was to do what he was going to last year in his first year at WVU, make the tourney. (Tucker injury kept them barely out). Instead, we’re headed for a 16 win season. If me and my IU friends are any indication…the basketball program is going to benefit by football success because there’ll be fewer eyeballs than ever. A passive *shrug* toward this season and next. He’s getting three years regardless. Hopefully it’s not 3 straight missed tourneys, but again *shrug*. Im spoiled by Curt Cignetti

Any doubt that Coach and Shanahan learned from those two losses last year? Playcalling was aggressive and exquisite essentially all season

More of a season post-mortem here but just reflecting on the challenges of going undefeated. Iowa and PSU both needed to pick up first downs late and they would have likely won. On our final drive against PSU, the throw before the Cooper catch was tipped up and their linebacker slips while making a move toward the ball. If he doesn’t slip there’s a good chance it’s an interception. While Oregon was close, that one never felt too much in doubt even tied in the 4th quarter. B1G championship was tight the whole way, and we had the good fortune of their kicker missing a makeable one like happened against Iowa and Oregon And then of course the back-and-forth second half vs Miami You can’t prep for missed FGs and having generally healthy skill players all year, but being 110% prepared allows you have the best chance at experiencing some lucky bounces. CIG and this staff prep for every tiny detail…and the good fortune follows.

Love Coach making a point to give credit to last years team, and call out the media narratives that team faced. At the 7:15 mark -
