I say if Stevens and May say no, just hire McCollum and call it a day. I don't care where he has coached because winners win no matter where they coach. It is obviously he has built a culture in his program and get kids to fit that culture to win at that high of a rate.
-
He also said he thought May was a legitimate candidate as well

I guess you got me there. I might not believe everything you say but I think you here things but your sources might not be correct very often

The guy you responded to worked for the Celtics so he would probably know a little more about this

Your Hoosier posting board history

I think I joined Peegs around 1997-98 and can't remember my username. I got in a huge battle with a guy named Gorkjo about it was time for RMK to step down as coach. He wanted to meet me and kick my @$$ for saying that about RMK. I stayed in those sites for a long time but about 4 or 5 years ago it got to toxic so I left there After that I found HSN and then found this site during the last search because HSN went down for a few weeks. -
Just listened to RabJohn's on the radio and these were some things he talked about. 1) A lot of people wanted to move on from Woody after last year but a couple people didn't agree. Also said a lot of people around college basketball couldn't believe he got a 4th year 2) That Stevens and May will be the first to get a call. 3) Pearl is not involved 4) Beard has a huge uphill battle. Said that the one incident that was reported is probably not the first incident involving Beard. Also said he tried to get his name into the UL and UM job and those two didn't want anything to do with him.

Don't forget Pitino

If I didn't know better I would think the people who run this board put moles on this board to spread rumors to keep people coming to the board.

It's just that easy

So how much of the revenue sharing does the basketball team get?

If you look at big ten players and their athletic ability compared to most of the SEC teams it isn't even close so that is why I asked. To me these coaches style of play is better with long athletic wings and guards and you don't see much of that in the big ten
-
I wonder if we get a coach like Williams or any other SEC would they be able to convince those type of athletes to come play in the big ten. It seems like there are talk out there that the top recruits don't want to play in the big ten.

I want a coach who will hold players accountable and Cronin does that
-
I know there won't be a candidate that all the fans will endorse as our next coach. I just hope this fan base can unite and get behind whoever is chosen as our next HC because that will make it easier for that coach to succeed.
-
If they start winning I doubt they will mind the pace. I have read the same things were being said when IU hired RMK because we were known as the Hurrin Hoosiers. It took awhile but our fans started to the slower pace and the defensive minded coach. Also the longer RMK was here he adapted his offense and we routinely averaged around 80 ppg

I would be happy with Cronin

So will I

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Watch the last game of the season vs OSU for the big ten title. That was a really good game -
He didn't have very many players when he got to Drake so he pretty much put their roster together. He is winning a very good conference with saying 4 players from D2 and one from a juco.
-
If we win I guarantee you will be awake. You think UW or VA fans fell asleep when they played in the championship game. Our fans will never be happy with any style because Crean had a fun style of offense with up tempo and 3 points shooting. People complained because we turned the ball over and didn't play defense
-
I am more about substance over glitz and glamour. Also Crean ran a fun style of offense but no defense and people complained.
-
He definitely wouldn't be one of my top choices but I wouldn't be upset with the hire either. Like I said earlier OSU football hired a coach from Youngstown State and he won them a championship. I think if you proven you are a winner no matter the level that usually translates to the next level. I am talking consistently winning and not making one great run in the tournament
-
Why? I like winning and that is all McCollum does. I couldn't care less what style of play the coach runs but I care about if that system leads to winning. If he builds a culture of winning with playing hard and players who play with emotion and passion I will be happy. Bo Ryan and Tony Bennett won consistently with a slower pace and be happy with those two.
