  1. I watched that last night and everyone they mentioned they said it probably would be a long shot.
  2. The only reason why Rice was in the game was Leal fouling out and Tucker or Reneau wasn't in the game.
  3. If any coach comes in and show they have a culture and that he can recruit to the culture and indenity. If he does that and shows improvement through the year the fans will be happy with that
  4. You are probably right about the recruiting but I still think that is where you start then branch out. If our recruiting class this year started with Mullins, Harrelson and Sisely that is a great start. To me you still need to recruit high school and then supplement it with transfers
  5. Just look to UCONN for that
  6. Where have I talked about playing style but a culture that obviously you don't understand. You won't win by just paying players that don't fit a system. Did UCONN just build through NIL and the portal or did they build through a culture that their coach instills.
  7. I am saying that your user name on HSN in IndianaResident16 since you have the same style of posting
  8. I have figured out that you are IndianaResident16 over on HSN
  9. Why we sucked is that we went away from what made IU great. A culture and foundation of a program built on hard work, toughness and playing as a team. We went away from our recruiting strategies and tried to go the route of getting the highest rated players as possible. It use to be about evaluating and developing players and now it is about paying the most money for entitled players. It is time to go back to what made IU great and that is get a hard nosed coach who will instill a culture built around the team and not individuals. It is time to go back to recruiting our hot bed area and getting the very best of Indiana high school players then going out from Indiana. It is time to go back to having the whole being greater than it's parts and build a program and not a team.
  10. Sounds like a certain coach who coached here for a long time.
  11. Better than you coming here to troll and start arguments
  12. I am one of the old timers who have seen 3 national championships and saw what made IU elite. It wasn't about out talenting teams but we were built on a foundation of toughness, hard work and playing the game the right way. We have went away from that foundation and culture that made IU who we were and it hasn't worked. It is time to get back to that foundation and culture of players who play hard and play with toughness. I am.tired of the portal and NIL and building our roster that way instead of building a roster through evaluation and developing. I guess maybe I am spoiled as an IU fan but any mention of coaches like Beard or Wade just infuriates me because they don't meet that foundation or culture that made IU great. For you young guys if you want to see what IU culture was all about just watch Purdue tonight because that was how IU used to be built. I would assume for most of us older fans that is what upsets us as much as anything is seeing your biggest rival be what you use to be.
  13. Who in the hell said they want to hire Brownell or he is in top of their list. Do I want him to be our choice no but I would take him over Wade any day of the week.
  14. I was exaggerating some and trying to explain to AH that it wouldn't just be a thread if Brownell was hired. I assume if we hired Wade people would get upset early if he lost a few
  15. I thought we were getting Brad Stevens, he is that caliber of coach
  16. The administration gives coaches time but us fans don't
  17. No matter who the next coach is that there will be another fire coach thread after their first loss
  18. It was a joke because everybody always brings that up about Crean. I never said Syracuse was garbage and they were a top 10 team for most of the season
  19. Have to remember that Williams team did worse against the Syracuse zone than Crean did
  20. Not really happened that way according to Aaron's dad who I worked with for 7 years. He said Aaron was never close to committing but after Anderson and Smith committed Archie stopped recruiting him.
  21. Woodson didn't miss anything that was Archie
  22. Painter said any power team that was the first to offer was going to get him because Smith wanted to prove he can play at that level.
  23. That was a tough non conference that year with us going 7-5
  24. I was going to listen on my way home but I got home before he got on the radio.
  25. Matt Painter was on the radio today and asked him about getting Smith. He said Purdue offered on a Thursday and was the first power conference to offer him and in within 12 hours he committed to Purdue. So hearing that it doesn't sound like IU offered at all
