Pretty good watch and at around the 40 minute mark he talks about the coaching search. To the posters who don't want McCollum you will like what Galen says about him. I don't know if he knows much but with him doing a lot of sports media at IU you would think he has some knowledge.

To me those two would be like UK having to hire someone like Mark Pope, damn that is who they hired

What statement could they release. McCollum will not want any of this to get out until after his season is over.

If it is McCollum it won't be announced Monday since his team is still playing

I thought everyone was told to stay quiet and had to sign NDA. If this is the case how are people getting all of these inside info. Face it, no one knows a damn thing.

I think any coach we hire even Stevens needs a strong support staff to get through all the things college coaches have to go through. A lot of top football programs have a GM plus a lot of support staffs

That's why I am admitting that I don't understand the current college basketball landscape. I'm admitting it's a trend that I don't understand. But I do believe what I said as far as what it communicates to me as a fan and the program I follow. To me these coaches can get paid anywhere and why mess with happiness and winning if you are winning where you are at.

That is total garbage about McCollum needing coordinators. He has been a HC for 15 years and basketball isn't that hard so if you can coach you can do it at any level. Also John Beilein hired an assistant to take over his defense because their defense wasn't good. So if a great coach like that hires a coordinator so to me that isn't a bad thing. What he would need some help with is the NIL and the portal which is why you need to hire a GM. I would say that no matter who the coach is because it is to much work for the HC.

I don't understand the college basketball landscape at all. I don't understand what 9, 10, 11 million per year will get you anymore. If we don't finally just make someone, that is worth it, the highest paid coach in college basketball....I just don't understand at all. It communicates one of three things to me. Either the IU job is just not an attractive job anymore to any top coach, or we aren't serious about turning this around, or both. Pay enough money, and you're going to get the best out there. So I guess the UK job is no longer attractive since they got turned down by top coaches and settled for Pope who.had never won a tournament game.

Some are being drama queens or just don't understand the college basketball landscape Have you actually paid attention to the hires of power conference teams lately. Show me all of these power conference coaches leaving their jobs for another power conference team. You have a guy like Cal who wanted out of UK and UL was ready for a change but you don't see successful coaches leaving. To me UK hiring Pope is the Equivalent of us hiring Brownell. UL hiring Kelsey would he no different than us hiring McCollum.

I think we all need therapy on here because we are losing it. How about let Dolson do his job and not freak out after every tweet that comes out. Also if a guy is hired that you don't like nobody is making you watch IU play so either back the coach or don't watch anymore. I would really hate if we hired Beard but I would have to make a choice and I probably would still support the program.

I think I have figured out why Stevens was in Charlotte watching ND today. He is there to bring Shrewsbury with him to IU as an assistant coach and both of their sons are coming as well.

The more I hear national guys make fun of IU thinking Stevens is a possibility makes hope the we shock the world. Today Mike Decoursey was talking about the job opening and said IU fans need to realize that the fantasy was never going to happen. He said he doesn't deal with fantasy but reality
