Sara Scalia - Magnolia Campobasso (Italy)

Sara Scalia was named to the Italian national team in advance of the women's EuroBasket 2025 qualification games (Czechia on Nov 7 and Greece on Nov 10). Here's the announcement on the Italian Basketball Federation site (in Italian, obviously): https://fip.it/le-azzurre-per-le-gare-con-cechia-e-grecia-raduno-a-genova-dal-3-11-la-procedura-di-accredito-media/ She was 7 of 10 on three pointers for a total of 23 points during Campobasso's last game on Oct. 20. You can follow her game log at the Eurobasket site: https://basketball.eurobasket.com/player/Sara-Scalia/524726

    IUWBB - News and Notes

I could be wrong, but I think the ESPN writer is saying that: The Greenville 2 Region is the only region that doesn't have a team that's won a national championship in its region LSU and their coach Kim Mulkey are in the Greenville 2 Region with IU Mulkey has won three championships, but those were at Baylor, so: No teams in the Greenville 2 Region are coached by coaches who have won a national championship at their current school It's confusingly worded, though, and I had to reread "the Hoosiers have a three-time champion coach in LSU's Kim Mulkey" part a few times to be sure of what they were trying to say. Might have been clearer to say something like "lurking in their region" right after that bit.

Not that it means much now, but we are back to #2 in the just-released AP rankings (and stayed at #2 in the coaches poll): https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/rankings

Somehow we're still #3 today even after UConn's loss ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Probably not a big deal in terms of seeding for the tournament, but we're up to #3 in the NET rankings (formerly #5 prior to Sunday's game, but we've now passed LSU and Stanford): https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-women/d1/ncaa-womens-basketball-net-rankings

    IUWBB @ POTFB - Sunday 2/5/23 @ 2:00 on FS1

Faith W. doesn’t arrive until 2024, but yes—absolute trust in this team :)
  8. There was a moment in the Butler game when the ball got stuck on the rim on a 3 point attempt and Bargesser jumped to dislodge it. So that leaping ability isn't totally gone ...

    IUWBB AP/Coaches Poll

Not a poll, but ESPN has us as a 1 seed in their updated bracketology: https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/30423107/ncaa-women-bracketology-2023-women-college-basketball-projections

Extra note since I've been watching the IU-related FIBA games on YouTube: That block by Garzon was on a potential game-winning 3, and she tipped it off the German player after the block to regain possession: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CqmV5M3c-Q&t=7100s
