    General WBB Thread

Couldn't find or locate if we had one for the ladies' sport, so I figured I'd at least make one given that there are at least some interesting things to talk about, even if it may be resigned to the general thread over at the men's side. So, let's start with this: Las Vegas women's tournament loses Dayton, Purdue, Texas A&M (espn.com) The school up north saw what happened last month and decided "No sir, I didn't like it", opting instead to play a road game against Texas A&M. Dayton also pulled out, and the organizers are trying to save face by claiming that the other schools involved are glad the "Power 5" schools aren't showing up, which begs the question... when did Dayton join a Power 5 conference? They're still in the Atlantic 10, which is regarded as the biggest of the mid-majors, but saying its a Power 5 is a stretch. Now, in fairness, here is South Point Arena: Arena Information - South Point Arena, Equestrian Center, and Exhibit Hall It's not a reception room or dance hall; it's an actual arena with seats configured usually for rodeo events and was one of the places I pointed out as a "secondary" venue people could have gone to. But I think the event the Hoosiers played at ruined it for everyone due to how you just can't trust these people with organization (claiming they would be playing in a TV-ready set) or safety (leaving a concussed Auburn player for 40+ minutes) or promotion (not having anything for fans).

You see how Sam Houston went from FCS championship contender to 10-3 in 2024 to "Why in God's name did Phil Longo get hired again?!!" That's North Texas's fate.
  3. If Vanderbilt and Ole Miss can win and Alabama can't in the SEC, anything is possible.
  4. Tomorrow's one of the biggest games IU has ever played that doesn't involve a self-righteous school that trademarked a grammatical article. I know plenty of us think we'll lose, but I'll take a chance, and I'm not going to be silly. Indiana - 28 Oregon - 27

    IUFB @ Iowa - Saturday, 09.27.25 @ 3:30 ET on Peacock

The bad news was that we had to play Iowa's brand of sicko football. The good news is that we won, so we go to 5-0 and a top 10 ranking awaits us this Monday.

    2025 IUFB Season

Once you get the alumni convinced that the way back to basketball relevancy is by making the football program a winner, they'll be willing to keep Cignetti around. We need the revenue more than ever since football is the top money maker and if we can sustain this, it will be a lot easier to get IU basketball back to blue blood status. It's just very hard to comprehend because all throughout our history, Indiana was a basketball school and you just put up with the football team until Hoosier Hysteria. But times have changed.

I said in the ODU thread that they do try to win games. They don't purposefully coast every season. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech is that dogshit.

Shoot. I could have used tonight to build my lead but instead I gotta be strategic for the rest of the season now that we're done with all the non conference games.
