Without question, this is an important offseason for CDD. Looking at the season just concluded, there were serious flaws in our roster. Lamar was able to put up strong performances but could be streaky. Tuck played hard but wasn’t very athletic and got exposed defensively. We had no real inside presence, either scoring or rebounding. Most importantly, we had no point guard (IMO, one reason Iowa won yesterday is that McCollum brought a pretty good PG with him to Iowa City). Not sure who all we will target, but there’s no way that we can have a repeat of last season. It’s gonna be an interesting few weeks to see how we reset the table.

Most disheartening aspect of this game - really, the last month of this season - is how disjointed this team looked. Were there chemistry issues? Seemed like when Conerway came back around the time of the Wisconsin game is when we started to struggle.

Thoroughly agree. Having a new roster turnover every year caught up to Calipari at UK; big reason why he’s in the Ozarks now.

IF (and that’s a BIG if, given Miami’s history of penalties) the Hurricanes can play a clean game, the championship game could be interesting. Ultimately, though, Indiana is just better in all facets of the game. IU 34, Miami 20 - but if the Canes resort to the sloppiness they’ve displayed in other games, it could be the third blowout of the CFP for the Hoosiers.

Players are what drives the game. The highest-rated final four at the time in 1979 was because of Bird and Magic Johnson. Same thing when they got to the league and turned the NBA finals from tape delay into must watch TV.. And we really wanna say that the WNBA didn’t need Caitlin Clark, or when she was at Iowa the girls Final Four wasn’t must-watch TV?

I would love to get Federiko. Haven’t been able to find any kind of information on us - or others - for him anywhere.

But does it? Just look at academic requirements. Do other schools deal with that? And the other NU coaches? Did they have to deal with the transfer portal? NIL? Collins probably had NU in the dance before Barnhizer went down with injury. I’m not saying he should be the first choice. But he’d do well in Bloomington.

Yeah, because Collins obviously is coaching under the same situation as either of those two. Some people just don’t understand . . .

Collins is extremely underrated as a coach. with a change in NIL and transfer portal, he could be looking for a new location. Northwestern was already difficult with the academic requirements. Without question, the guy can coach. In their entire history, they have been to the NCAA tournament three times - all under Collins..

Listen, I’m no insider. But given the fact that Jerry has not come back and said anything in weeks tends to make me believe SOMETHING IS GOING ON. The next couple weeks are going to be pretty interesting . . .

Brady Stevens is a WALK ON at Notre Dame. And, no, he did not play in NDs 56-54 win over Stanford. So . . . the Celtics had a home game last night, but Stevens flew mid morning from Bedford, MA to South Bend. Arrived around 1; early afternoon. For a game to be played that evening. Yes he just wanted to hang with Shrew all day, huh?
