If you’re going to lecture about people believing without evidence but don’t provide proof yourself, you’re asking for blowback. Besides, this is a FREE message board. What the hell - why not let people dream until we actually find out who the coach is, Brad Stevens or not?

Well, yeah he is. Do I think Brad Stevens is going to come? He may, he may not. But you call other people out for not providing proof when you’re not providing proof yourself? Isn’t that a little hypocritical?

Ok, just caught up on 15 pages at a Buccee’s in north Georgia while traveling back to Indiana. Pretty funny stuff (especially JFK Assassination. Btw, read MORTAL ERROR if you really want to know what happened). But I digress . . . One thing seems pretty clear to me. If you take a step back and look at everything that has occurred so far, it only makes sense that Dolson has his guy lined up. If he didn’t, why would he have gotten Woodson out already instead of waiting till the end of the year? You only do that if you know who your guy is going to be. And it has to be someone who is not currently coaching. I mean, would you want to have a coach coming here that wasn’t completely focused on his team all the time? Everything seems to be pointing to Brad Stevens, but could it be somebody else that we’ve never talked about or has been talked about very little? Such as Jay Wright? Too much of this tells me that it has to be Dolson‘s done his homework and is getting the guy that he wants. Occam’s razor. I feel good that we’re getting somebody that can really turn this program around, but damn do I hate waiting for him to be announced.

Without question, Beard is a good coach. In a situation like this, though, you MUST get the guy who is a good FIT. Bringing him in would equate to putting a square peg in a round hole.

Stevens may have been out of college basketball for a dozen years - and from coaching altogether since 2021 - but can you think of anyone who has the combination of coaching acumen, program management and personal motivation for Indiana University that Stevens has? Being GM of the Celtics the past 4 years has given him an insight into the financial aspects that no other candidate can bring to the table. Does that mean we'll get him? Idk - but a LOT of stars seem to be aligning at the same time.

If they didn’t have somebody lined up, why not wait till the end of the season so potential candidates wouldn’t be put through the wringer by the media wanting to know their interest in the job? On the other hand, why wait to announce Woodsons retirement if you’ve got your guy in place? This saves somebody like Dusty from having all kinds of scrutiny during the game on Saturday..
