  1. Not an attractive home slate for ticket holders. Hopefully they add a marquee non-conference home game.
  2. I could be wrong, but my sense is that recent history suggests that schools prioritizing high performing mid major and/or unproven P5 talent in the portal have out performed those that emphasize established P5 portal players. At least in cases where a major roster rebuild was required. Michigan and Louisville are obvious examples last year, Florida, KState a couple years back.
  3. Went back and found this saying we were 21 on Torvik last May: https://btownbanners.com/topic/14310-they-“retired”-coach-woodson-thread/?page=1082&tab=comments#comment-907023
  4. We did get a lot yesterday, though...more than expected.
  5. He injured his ankle in February. Was a scratch for the national title game.
  6. This is going to be a fascinating team to watch early, to see how the rotations come together, etc.
  7. Where did Torvik have IU last year, preseason? I feel like it was Top 15. Computer rankings aren't the be all, end all.
  8. I have a feeling we're going to look back at this one as being a big get...especially if the Gonzaga interest is accurate. DDV seems to be targeting some real length for the most part. 6'7" at the 2, with those shooting numbers, is pretty formidable.
  9. I love this. Shows the coaching staff is completely in control.
  10. Dorn is 6'7", two years left, shot 36% and 35% from 3 his first two seasons, and put up 17 and 24, respectively, against UNC and ND this year. I'd take that for bench depth all day long.
  11. I get that having too much talent is a good problem to have...but where would Avdalas fit in the rotation? Would it be Wilkerson-Avdalas-TDV at the 2-3-4 with Miles off the bench? Or would that move Bailey to the bench with a true, rim-protector at the 5? The biggest unanswered question in my mind right now is whether DDV is currently planning on playing TDV and Bailey at the 3-4 or 4-5? It obviously depends on who we can get at the 5, but I'm solidly in the camp that thinks Bailey would be more effective in a pseudo Danny Wolf role (without the same handle, of course) at the 4.
  12. We just got a commit yesterday mid-visit.
  13. It all depends, folks. If we miss the tournament because TDV and Wilkerson go down early with season ending injuries, it'd be hard to say that's a huge red flag for DDV. If everyone stays healthy and we go 5-15 in the B1G, then that would be a big red flag.

  16. It's probably just baseless speculation, but about two and a half minutes into this, they suggest IU is looking to play TDV at the 3, Bailey and the 4, and bring in a true 5. Just FYI... https://youtu.be/VuhJDegJeVI?si=zqJgdTeLe65dnV_X
  17. I was just thinking this morning that when it's all said and done, I won't be surprised if Wilkerson outperforms Conwell this year.
  18. But that 3-4-5 would be something defensively...and not in a good way. I don't believe Goode can defend the 3 at this level to the extent that would be necessary with a TDV/Bailey frontline.
  19. I don't think last year's group was well rounded. A number of people questioned how Reneau and Ballo would fit playing together. Others questioned the fit between Rice and Carlyle, since neither were lights out from beyond the arc, and utilized penetration that wasn't going to work with the lane clogged. The fit of the pieces is MUCH better this year. Time will tell if improved results follow.
  20. Add a couple freshman, including Acaden Lewis, and this would be pretty ideal.
  21. Love the fact we are recruiting guys being pursued by top SEC teams. Suggests DDV is going after a more athletic type than many of our B1G compatriots.
  22. Or would it be Conerway, Mack, Wilkerson, TDV, Bailey?
