  1. Of all the takes, that tweet might be the worst.
  2. Agreed, but we need to bring in three bigs, IMO, between the 4 and 5.
  3. Mustaf and Harris strike me as smart, high upside pickups that won't break the bank, but raise the talent level of the roster. Mustaf in particular really picked up his scoring the second half of the year.
  4. If the NIL donations aren't there, it doesn't matter whether the AD wants to save money or not. You can't spend what you don't have. In hindsight, any NIL advantage we once had appears to have dried up once Woody was forced out. We really needed to ramp NIL up during DDV's first couple years to lay a foundation, but I'm guessing the $$ for a UK level $18-22 million budget just wasn't there.
  5. But do you trust him with your wife?
  6. Given our recent track record with freshman transfer guards from Wazzou, what could go wrong?!?
  7. Just to clarify, I think there is a big difference between these posts listing IU as one of 25 teams that have contacted a player, and reports from Jamie Shaw or Travis Branham saying IU is among the 3 or 4 teams to watch for a player. The latter may prove incorrect, but suggest a higher level of meaningful interest and engagement than the former.
  8. For the record, I'm fine with dumping on DDV if next year's roster shows he hasn't learned his lesson and/or been able to successfully adjust his approach. I just refuse to preemptively engage in teeth gnashing and woe-is-us-ism when credible reports from national writers list IU as one of a small handful of teams to watch for, basically, half of the top 10 transfers currently on the market. Especially when all of them would represent a big leap forward from last year's strategy. If we swing and miss at all of them, then have at it. But patience is a virtue, especially in a case like this when we'll all know a heck of a lot more in 7-10 days.
  9. I'm not sure that last sentence is accurate...
  10. I don't have to project. You have already done it repeatedly, criticizing DDV for failing to land any of the Big fish recruits we went after. But when Louisville does the same, they are showing they're serious...
  11. 100%. But I trust their info more than Wayne's "X sources"...
  12. The smart money is always on the field when it comes to landing a particular player. But that doesn't mean IU wasn't involved, or that you have any actual insight.
  13. So when UL strikes out on Bidunga and Shelstad, you'll give them credit for the effort. But if IU hosts a top target and misses, something tells me you won't be so generous.
  14. Gotta love people who discount every report tying IU to top portal talent, only to then be angry that IU isn't serious about signing top talent. All on Day 1 of the portal... I swear, some of you would find a way to complain about free ice cream...
  15. Jamie Shaw and Travis Branham say otherwise. No offense, but I trust their sources more than yours.
  16. Well, national reporters listed IU as one of 3 or 4 teams to watch for both players, just today. I'll take their word over Debbie Downer speculation.
  17. Unless you work in the AD or are a big donor, no one here has any actual clue what the NIL is. It's all just second hand info.
  18. You have no idea what the budget is, or whether there is room to expand it. Whenever a report fits your narrative you give it full weight. When a report cuts against your narrative, you trivialize it. Just chill, dude, and see how things play out.
  19. Huh? We've been tied to Juke Harris and Blackwell, currently #2 and #3, respectively, in the On3 rankings, just in the last 24 hours.
  20. We're in a dead period. No in person contact, but electronic communication between coaches and players is fine.
  21. A little late on this, but everything out of Ann Arbor consistently suggests that UofM's budget this year has been overstated. Not sure why they'd be so insistent that they didn't spend $12+ million if that was accurate.
  22. What was the book on Haralson's shooting coming out of HS? Was it expected to be better than it was, or is long distance not a meaningful part of his game? If the former, I might be willing to bet on a second year bump. If the latter, but sure he's a great fit in this offense at the 2 or 3.
  23. IU not among the top 10 CBB jobs in the country per a recent coaches poll: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7162488/2026/04/01/college-basketball-best-jobs-duke-unc-kentucky-kansas/
