Not saying this is incorrect, but it is hard to understand why this message wasn't communicated from day 1 after the cluster in 2021...

So I take it you aren't actually named Trish, then. Or else this is really a heck of a story.

2025 Men's Season Ticket Renewal options Question
IU Prof replied to dwtaylor1055's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The renewal email usually comes in May. There is a payment plan, but I forget how many installments. I think it's more like 4-6. -
With Brad? Top 15. With Dusty? Top 25. With McCollum, McMillian, McCasland, or Cronin? Unranked.
-
Exactly. That's why I feel much better about Dusty this year than last. He's proven he can level up to the B1G.
-
As someone said yesterday, quiet is good...
-
Frequently refers to himself in the third person.

I will say, Turgeon talk isn't that much more ridiculous than the Pitino Jr. talk.
-
He comes after we strike out on John Groce.

At this point in 2021 (9 days post firing), we'd already been jilted by Brad and were just 3 days away from hiring Woodson. How are we going to make it another month?
-
For the love of all that's holy, I certainly hope not.
-
Assuming Brad's out, what's the ideal March run for Dusty at Michigan if we want to land him here? I'd think a final four might persuade him to stay. 2nd round upset loss?
-
See you in a couple weeks.
-
I could potentially buy waiting until March 2nd. But the contract details you added don't make sense. What would possibly be the benefit of a coach's option to extend? The coach would just want a fully guaranteed contract, with a miniscule buyout. I don't think I've ever heard of a coaching deal get structured that way. So this one doesn't pass the smell test.

I will say that the Goodman tweet was almost genetically engineered to allow people to see whatever they want to see in it. It could 100% be Brad saying he has no interest in the job. But it could also be what you would expect someone would say when they need to buy a couple more weeks before a hiring announcement. It's almost like Brad and Jeff were totally messing with everyone here.
-
I don't think Michigan will ever invest in basketball to the same level as IU.
-
People said Brad Stevens was a done deal yesterday, Brad then told Goldman he wasn't a candidate late afternoon yesterday, and now no one knows what to think.
-
I might even be able to forgive what Beard did if there was any sign he was reformed. But by all accounts, he's still drinking, and he's never taken any responsibility publicly for the DV incident. So no forgiveness earned.
-
Pretty hard to argue with this. I'd have some reaches (Otz, Oats, Donovan) above McDermott (and maybe Dusty), but otherwise this looks right to me.
-
Fixed it for you...

I don't understand why some people care so much about others believing the Stevens rumors. If you don't like the Stevens talk here, or the faith people put in some of the board insiders, there are plenty of other places you can go to talk about Hoosier sports. HSN, for instance, isn't nearly as rumor laden. Just go elsewhere if you don't like the vibes here. But to just stick around here in order to repeatedly laugh and yell at the posters doesn't make you cool, sophisticated, or interesting. Just tiresome.
-
I don't think Chris has anything to take any lumps for this time. He's been consistent the entire time that it wasn't a done deal and anything could happen. I think it was others who were mote definitive, making their absence all the more notable now.
-
What's crazy about these rumors is the whiplash from how quickly they get disproven. In 2021, the word on the street was Stevens was all but done, and then he issues a statement denying any interest. Last year Woodson's firing was imminent, up until the minute the athletic department released its statement saying he's coming back. And now today, we've got our man, only for Stevens to say he's not a candidate mere hours later. I think we have to consider that whoever is feeding info to posters here may in fact be the smoke screen...
-
Did they get that from Brad or someone high up at IU?
-
I will say the silence from some of the insiders is getting palpable, now that we're ~2.5 hours post the Goodman bomb.
