    Why do we think Stevens only makes $1.5 million?     Don't get the concern about Stevens because he's been out of the college game for 10 years. If anything, recruiting is less relationship driven now. The GM skills he has developed would be incredibly valuable, and I'm guessing that he's developed relationships with more agents than any college coach going right now. Assuming he stays 10 years, I think you are looking at 2 banners, minimum.

    Here's a hypothetical for you... Say it eventually turns out that Stevens is the guy. Presumably a deal would be in place sometime in, say, the next month or so. When do you announce it? Immediately, to give notice to portal recruits, etc.? Or after IU's season is officially over, to avoid distractions for the current team?

    One thought I had was that if Stevens is, indeed, the guy, then you sit on the retirement announcement until after the Celtics' post-trade deadline press conference...

    He did like a post suggesting that Dolson wouldn't make an announcement without having a replacement lined up. That could suggest that Dolson has his man. Or it could suggest that no official announcement regarding a retirement is forthcoming. Or it could mean nothing at all!
