You’re right on the trust thing and who can blame us? The average poster on the Peegs board has been a lot better on every single hiring and firing we have made since the Knight era than the people running the Indiana administration.

If they hire someone the fans really want that will not be the case. Although obviously that would be the first time that has happened since the Knight firing so I’m not optimistic that they will.

He’s a classic beta. Nice guy. Probably way too nice of a guy. IU needs a killer.

But still, why not put out a retirement statement and end it? Makes no sense unless he truly believes he can get a 5th year.

I know. He’s the absolute perfect hire but for the one incident. Just literally checks every box. Bozich and Coyle both agreed that the hire absolutely has to be an alpha male. Talked about how Dusty was likely a bad fit due to that. I really worry Dolson will hire Dusty. That would be a tragic mistake imo.

Bozich also suggested that Woody is so aloof and out of touch that he probably doesn’t have a clue the situation he is in. Likely doesn’t think his seat is even warm and that’s he’s doing a good job. This is going to be an extremely ugly breakup and it didn’t have to be.

Jim Coyle was really pumping up Beard this morning. Definitely thinks he should be the guy over Dusty.

Right now mamma is far from her son. If Brad takes the IU job her son transfers to IU and they wouldn’t be apart. Might be appealing to mamma. They usually miss their boys. And the daughter enrolls at BSouth and then later IU and doesn’t have to go away for college. It’s perfect Tracy!

He’s another Alford. Good in a smaller conference but not so much when he’s playing with the big boys.

I do wonder if Brad falls through if Dolson doesn’t make a hard push for Drew. Would seem to be the obvious #2. Goodman is tight with him and seems to think he’d be interested. I get that he seems to love Waco but he’s a Butler grad and has deep ties to Indiana. Lived in the state for over 25 years I think. He seems to have peaked at Baylor as well and maybe wants a new challenge. I can’t imagine that their NIL is much.

Well for one he’s now succeeded at multiple places. And NW Missouri St is not Dayton. Pretty sure they are crap again this year. Everyone wins at Dayton. And he doesn’t have Archie’s personality quirks. You all know what I mean.

Nah. Stevens is a lot more like Coach K. I’m sure Dusty is an extremely nice guy and that’s a lot of the problem.

I think he’s a bad fit. But I also think he’s the most likely hire unfortunately.

Could also be the first time since the Knight firing that our AD is able to go out do a search and make a hire on his own without a bunch of mindless bureaucrats meddling in the process. I am very optimistic this time if we don’t hire Dusty.

I do think it will absolutely be Brad or bust. Not because I don’t think there are other good coaches we could get but I’m certain Dusty is the #2 and I doubt he says no. I think he would be a really bad hire for IU. Just doesn’t have the chops or the personality to succeed here imo. UM which is a football school is a much better fit for Dusty. IU is way too much of a fishbowl.
