    Crean and Alford with IUs NIL would do just enough to maybe never get fired but also likely never enough to satisfy anyone. Be thankful for Woodson’s ineptitude.

    Those calling for an IU guy wanted their IU guy. Even they never thought IU would be dumb enough to hire Mike freaking Woodson. Yes they wanted Alford, the only IU guy remotely qualified.

    It's all about our expectations and our NIL. If we expect to compete with OSU and UM we will need an extra $20M in NIL each year vs what they have. Same for basketball and Woodson.

    I’d be thrilled with the Drake coach assuming Brad and Dusty are a no. He could be our Bo Ryan but with much better recruiting given our resources.

    Crean is clearly better than Woodson but that isn’t saying much. He was abysmal at Georgia and never sniffed the dance before getting fired. We can and should do much better than either. The problem is that we have arguably the most inept administration in the whole country. They’ve hired one decent coach since Knight was fired and he got canned over phone calls.

    But this is IU. We learn the coach isn’t the guy and then wait another 2-3 years before the firing. It’s the Indiana way.

    The AD, if real, still comes forward and has his voice heard. If overruled the fans still know where he was. Dolson must be fired.

    Versyp left IU for PU after a year. Beard left TT for UT. It’s not unprecedented.

    Don’t forget that he inherited one of the top players in college basketball.

    The Davis hire was absolutely racial. He got the one interim year due to the players and the timing of Knights firing. But he should’ve been fired after the Kent St loss and real search done. If never happened due to one BOT member. I heard the same story from multiple people in the room.

    We saw the political and racial components in the Mike Davis and Kelvin Sampson hires. Could be the same thing here.
