I certainly agree with those who think IU should spend more time in Fort Wayne, but it’s mainly because everything goes in cycles. Right now, they’re not going to get the return on their investment. The coaching on the boys side right now in FW is subpar, in my opinion, and the talent we’re producing reflects that. Many of the top basketball players here are going to college on football scholarships, and the rest are going to smaller schools. Yes, we produce a good one every once in a while, but nowhere near the way we should given the population. But mainly IU needs to be up here so as to not miss out on kids 3, 5, and 10 from now in case boys BB bounces back.

Agree with you, and I live in Fort Wayne. Girls basketball is excellent here. Football is really good (don’t forget Carroll). Boys basketball, other than Homestead once or twice, has been down for a long time.

True, but in 2021 and 2022 we also had a guy that hit 59% of his 2-pointers, at a very high volume. So, while you always need to shoot some 3-pointers, you're completely ignoring metrics and common sense to actually prefer a 30-some percentage 3-point shot over a 59% 2-point shot.

I’m not sure why the players would have any interest in being employees at this point. They have far more rights than employees and make a lot more money than they likely would as employees.

I expect South Carolina to win this game, but I offer this: In 2019-20, South Carolina finished the season ranked #1 (that was the year the tournament was cancelled) with a record of 32-1. The one loss was a 71-57 pounding Indiana gave them on their home floor a couple weeks into the season. Here's hoping they can repeat that performance.

Honestly, I think this is more what they were referring to, and not what some read into it. Bringing the past players back into the program, uniting with recent and current players, and building a bridge to the future. I don’t think there was any assumption that Woodson would be a short term coach. In fact, Dolson said publicly he was looking for a CEO of the basketball program with this hire.

Just FYI, the portal closing doesn’t mean you can’t still sign kids out of the portal. It simply means kids can no longer put their name in it.

Iowa St - 7.5% 6. Tennessee - 4.5% 7. Auburn - 4.4% 8. North Carolina - 2.7% 9. Creighton - 2.2% 10. Alabama - 2.0% The one thing I'd take from this is definitely don't bet on any one team vs. the field this year, lol.

I agree, as much as I’d love to see it. But I think Indiana State deserves to be in. I haven’t seen a metric anywhere that supports them being left out.

I’m interested to see how this committee views mid- majors vs. P5. Could affect a lot of teams, like Indiana State, St. John’s, Virginia, Northwestern, etc.
