  1. Article by Osterman in Indy star says that by IU policy, if suspension is for failed drug test they cannot dress, and they are dressed tonight. Flip side could be that they got caught with weed and failed test could come later resulting in further suspension.
  2. So I've kind of taken the day to let this hire sink in, while checking this board periodically as time allowed. While I accept that this is not the type of hire many wanted, and yes, much of the information I've seen here is nothing that makes me jump for joy, I also have not had time to research him for myself. But, I understand that IU is not a top flight destination for most coaches trying to work their way up the coaching ladder, and that had we have been able to land the type of hire many on here seem to have wanted, it would have been another DeBoer situation and they would be gone for greener pastures in a year or 2. Bell has the requisite experience, even if the results leave something to be desired. Does anyone here truly believe that CTA would purposely hire someone that will cost him his job in a couple of years? I don't, but I also know that IU is not going to pay to bring in a top flight coordinator, so I trust that CTA made the hire that he thought was best given whatever constraints he had placed on him. As others have said, there are many examples of successful coordinators moving up to HC positions and failing. Cam Cameron being a prime example. The decision has been made, and as an IU fan I will root like hell for him to succeed. Yes, some players and recruits will decide to move on, so be it, if they, or the staff, don't believe the fit is right. I just can't get on board with bashing the guy before the hire has even been officially announced. Hopefully, as IU fans, we can all agree that whether or not we agree with the hire, we hope he succeeds, and makes IU better.
  3. We'll be lucky if X doesn't have 3 fouls before the tip...
  4. Tough loss. As bad as they shot, they were still in the game with 3 minutes left and they let it get away. Just like with the men's team the past few years, you have to be able to hit open outside shots.
  5. Thankful for Holmes. If we're anywhere near our average we win running away
  6. What has happened to our outside shooting?
  7. seems like refs are calling the game more closely this quarter
  8. Happy with that first half, not shooting extremely well, but still managed to hang with them and get and keep a lead going to the locker room.
  9. If this is the case, and we only had the money to fire one coach, did we fire the right one? I mean, not many offensive schemes work when defenders are already in the backfield before the handoff is made or your QB only has about 1 second to make a throw or has to scramble.
  10. The Herald Times put out THIS LIST of potential candidates today. It is for subscribers only, but I think I'm OK listing the names without the info/comments in the article (MODS - if not feel free to delete): Robert Weiner Co-OC/QBs Toledo Make Hart RBs Michigan Kirk Ciarroccca Analyst W. Virginia Justin Frye Co-OC/OL UCLA Rod Carey ex-Coach Temple Zack Kittley OC/QBs W. Kentucky Also mentioned Grant Heard and Deland McCullough as 2 potential internal candidates
  11. My first year doing this, at the end I was just hoping to finish in the top 10, alas, I have to settle for 11th. Thanks @LIHoosier for your time and effort on this all season, at least it gave me a reason to look forward to the IU games in an otherwise dismal season.
  12. That was a fun game to attend, great to see TJD set the AH scoring mark. We are far from perfect, but I think we are continuing to improve. It's nice to see the players be allowed to play through mistakes instead of being yanked from the game. That experience will pay off down the road against better teams. Woody really got on Lander when he made an ill advised first pass to Stewart on the wing that went out of bounds, and I don't think anyone in the arena had any doubts that Woody wanted that pass to go to TJD. But he left him in the game, and the next time he brought the ball up, the pass went to TJD.
  13. Tough loss for sure, stats show a less than stellar effort, so something positive to take away that we can hang with a team like Stanford not playing our best
  14. Looking at the stats, it's impressive that the game is this close, we've shot 33% from the field, been outrebounded by 20 and have had 7 shots blocked
  15. Down 55-52, end of 3rd. Really wish there was tv, but espn gamecast will have to suffice
  16. @JerryYeagley23 can you point your phone at your tv and stream it live on Facebook or something...just kidding...but absolutely ridiculous that this game is not nationally televised
  17. Well, there came a point where we looked better when the screen was cracked...lol
  18. 3 Games in and I have yet to run to Best Buy the next morning to get a new TV
  19. Not sure what I think about the radio ads on the TV, but those advertisers are getting are getting a little extra for their $$
