It depends on whomever our guy is and when he actually becomes available. Could be in the next 5 to 10 days or it could be 5 to 10 days after the tournament ends. The longer it takes, the more likely it is that our candidate is someone making a tournament run.

Honest question, you were kind of talking up Boston earlier, are you someone who grew up in Indiana and moved elsewhere, someone who is born and raised and still living in the state, or someone from out of state who attended IU and then moved on. There is nothing wrong with any of those categories, but I think which one you fall in is going to potentially drive how you view his statement. Honestly, not trying to throw shade at you, just think there is the potential that you and I have a different background that makes us look at what he said differently.

Selfless? He was reportedly being offered $7 million or more a year for 7 years, there was reportedly another list of things they wanted negotiated and worked out for them on top of that too. I wasn't thinking anything selfless, Indiana was ready to offer him a **** ton of money to come coach here along with whatever else his demands were.

This is so petty of me, but after the salt that was thrown in that press conference I am hoping he crashes and burns in Boston and then finds himself coaching for some NBA backwater in a few years thinking, "Maybe I should have taken that Indiana job." Super petty, but that is where I am.

It would be incredibly stupid IMO. If I am planning a surprise for my wife, I don't leave hints that I am buying a diamond if my plans are to take her to St. Elmo's for a nice dinner.

It may be over, but that is almost Nick Saban verbatim before taking the Alabama job. I will say this though, if we missed out on him, Indiana's AD needs to get a lid on the rumor mill because this would account for two times when a rumor got out of hand and if this holds, it really throws a cloud on whomever gets picked for the job. That being said, we have not hired anyone and denials like this have been issued before. So we chill out and see what happens.

Good two year run wasn't just in conference. He went to back to back Championship games, the second of which after losing some pretty important cogs off the prior team. He has been to the EC Finals several times since going to Boston as well. Is this really about Stevens or is it about a small school rivalry?
