  1. He will totally be recognized in Bloomington just like he totally gets recognized in Boston. When you are his profile level, you don't get to be anonymous anymore. But I lay money that his life is just as restricted in Boston because, no, he is not more anonymous there than he would be in Bloomington.
  2. Current assistants for the Celtics.
  3. No he can't. He is the coach of the Boston freaking Celtics. And instead of being surrounded by 60,000 people who all know who he is, he is surrounded by several million who all know who he is. He is probably one of THE most recognizable faces in that city.
  4. Also, there is blood family and there are contacts you make that can be like family. Being the coach's wife in a nee city is probably fairly isolating. You come in and your "friends" are assistant coaches wives or executive's wives? Tracy and Brad had to have had an Indiana network before he became Brad bleeping Stevens. Coming to Bloomington puts her within driving distance of that friend network. If they buy property anywhere north of Bloomington then she is a jump on 37 (being converted to I69) away from everyone they spent years developing friendships with in the Indianapolis area and northern suburbs. Sterling mentioned Boston is a very parochial city. There is Boston and there are transplants. A midwesterner in Boston who has to live in the type of bubble that the Stevens live in are the ultimate fish out of water. Her family may not be here in Indiana, but her roots most definitely are.
  5. If that is true and he tells the team, things will leak out immediately following that conversation.
  6. If this thing goes that long, it becomes more clear what is going on. We won't wait months for a college coach.
  7. This feels like we are currently in that panic time right before a recruit commits where the freak out begins. Sometimes the freak out is warranted and other times it is just the jitters that it is not done yet. "Why has he just not picked us yet if he wants to be here...?" At least this time we are pining for a grown man as opposed to a teenager....right? Lol.
  8. It is the most jaded board and lets face it, having a new poster show up and drop that with no context would probably be viewed side eyed by quite a few people. That being said, when I take what is posted there and match it to what is being said here, it doesn't sound completely implausible to me.
  9. https://indiana.forums.rivals.com/threads/the-stevens-information-i-was-asked-not-to-share.208532/ Maybe a little more detail about things?

  11. That is 8 pm California time. Usually the east coast stuff is earlier. Indiana and Boston being in the same time zone, I would be shocked if anything dropped that late.
  12. Usually that stuff is dropped by this time of night if it is coming out isn't it?
  13. http://kentsterling.com/2021/03/18/brad-stevens-to-iubb-will-not-be-stopped-by-a-contract-colts-carson-wentz-answers-3-questions-jimirsay-prefers-an-lt-in-the-draft/ Sterling says Goodman is a dumbass...(not in those words but....)
  14. I guarantee he knows less than 0708, Chris, and Yeagley. We may not land our man but even the Purdue idiots are coming around to the idea that something is going on. I fully believe we are deep into the talks. Now until things are signed, anybody could walk away, but it is very clear we have a sympathetic ear at the very least. As I said the other night, landing Stevens will be great because I think in the long term that the guy is a winner. But in the short term, I want to see guys like Jeff Goodman just eat a **** sandwich in the worst way.
  15. Goodman is committed at this point. He is going to look like a flipping clown if Stevens comes here. "He can't leave because he has an NBA contract with Boston and Satan himself wishes he had such ironclad deals." Whether Stevens comes or not, Goodman is a know nothing clown.
  16. Yeah but that is just tea leaf reading. I support your skepticism, I am usually in that category myself. I just don't think we will have anything concrete until we see an official yes or no.
  17. Again, I think this is fishing for an answer you cannot or will not get. I understand going the skeptics route until the ink is dry. Totally get that. This program has been a kick in the balls for 2 decades. That being said, nothing these guys are going to be willing to give you is going to overcome your skepticism. You'll just have to wait it out.
  18. I would hope it would not last that long, but if you think you have the great white whale on your hook, you continue to battle until you got him in your boat....no matter how long it takes.
  19. Dayton's last game that year was the 17th. I think having a college coach you are chasing can play with the timeline a bit too. Additionally, based on rumors, I don't think the decision to fire Crean was in the works as long as this was. It could be tomorrow, it could be June.
  20. Not only no, but unreasonable to have that as an expectation in year 1.
  21. I listened to that Bilas and Hoosier Hysterics podcast...A)I wish we had a better group to represent our feelings. B)I hate the national media guys.
  22. I can think of about 7 million reasons why it wouldn't.
  23. Goodman is an *******. He is one guy that we should be all up in his **** if Stevens does end up here. Know nothing hack.
