So Arkansas went after Tang (good coach), Beard (POS human but a good coach), then had backups of Jans (better than .700 career winning percentage and has been ok the first couple of years at Miss State) and Walker (this is a questionable choice) but then ends up with a HOF coach in Calipari. Overall, seems like he was going after winners. Compare that to Dolson: went after Stevens who was a pipedream and then had no backup plans so ended up with Woodson. If you're going to hire an old coach, I'd take Calipari over Woodson every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I don't really care for him or his system very much, but he doesn't act like an arrogant p**ck like Woodson and at least he's not stuck trying to force '90s basketball to work.

We've seen that Hunter Yurachek at Arkansas cares about their basketball team. We've seen that Dolson does not care about IU's. Time to find an AD who cares.

Who would be on UK's list of replacements? I imagine the fans will want Hurley (especially if they win tomorrow) but I don't see that happening.

What Purdue or anyone else is doing does not even factor into my wanting Woodson gone. I want IU to be consistently be a top 25 team that makes the tournament (NCAA, not the B1G) pretty much every year with a decent seed, with occasional great teams that have a legitimate chance at a NC. Woodson is definitely not the coach who can do that.

They've also done so without Duke and Kentucky levels of OAD talent. They've certainly had talent but it's more like top 50 or top 100 type talent that tends to stick around longer. It's mostly just been good coaching with one hot run with the previous HOF coach's players (similar to Mike Davis except winning the last game).

Painter is a good coach, Woodson is not. It doesn't matter where the players are from, Painter will still be a better coach than Woodson. Painter has a system and culture that he recruits for. Woodson just cares about stars without thought of fit.

I agree but I don't think you can blame this staff for Franklin. He never played for Woodson. There's also no reason to believe they'll put together a more well rounded group than last year or that we won't keep seeing the same things we've seen the last 3 years.

Huge mistake since it's no secret. He's only making it that much harder to field a good team next year. Maybe that's his goal. But I didn't think so for 2 reasons: 1) that would imply planning on Dolson's party which he hasn't shown an ability for 2) instead of helping him fail, the better option is to just fire Woodson Burying his head in the sand and trying to pretend there isn't a problem won't make everyone forget how bad last year was. That strategy is part of the reason I want Dolson fired, too.
