  1. I don't think Miley Cyrus is qualified. I'd rather keep Woodson.
  2. Please don't tell me IU is willing to pay $9M+ for Stevens but since he won't be the coach they're going to go cheap on salary for everyone else. Otzelberger is making $4M now. If they really want him, something like $5M might not be enough to pull him away. It would be a lot harder to say no to $6-7M. If IU wants a quality coach, make it very hard for them to say no. I doubt they'll do that.
  3. Pierre Pierce. Plus following up firing an underachieving alumn to hire another alumn who hasn't performed that well at the P5 level would be a mistake.
  4. You seem very unhappy here. Maybe another board would be more for you. I think you'd fit well on the rivals board.
  5. Turgeon's winning percentage in any conference he's been in has been under 60%. So if IU were to hire him, they'd not only lose the press conference, they'd also lose a lot of games. His NCAAT record is also less than impressive.
  6. Brad Stevens as IU's coach is fun for some to fantasize about since he's a great coach. Mark Turgeon? lmao Not so much. I would also point out that in some of your other posts that merely being better than Woodson isn't the goal. That's a very low bar. Being significantly better than Woodson and all that entails (like winning games, competing for B1G titles, making it past the first weekend of the NCAAT, etc) is the goal. Mark Turgeon doesn't have that upside.
  7. Is a cult of one possible? Turgeon train consists of only @TheDMV as far as I can tell.
  8. Knock yourself out with as much Turgeon talk as you want:
  9. A thread for @TheDMV to post about Mark Turgeon all he wants since he apparently can't not talk about him even though Turgeon won't be IU's next coach.
  10. The other Larry: Larry Bird
  11. The royal we is God and I, not everyone.
  12. You seemed to be using "we" as an all-encompassing opinion of the board. There is not one of those.
  13. "We"? There is no "we" as far as having an opinion on Stevens one way or another. Some people believe he'll be the next coach, some people believe that IU at least has a chance, and others believe he's not a legitimate possibility.
  14. Yes. I don't think it's a predictive stat, more of an affirming one.
  15. We'll see if it sticks. That family has been kind of flaky when it comes to college commitments. If she does come (and stays) maybe that will convince Aaron and/or Andrew to come as well. If IU can use this as a start of a Carmel pipeline that would be huge. She's a great swimmer so this is big news either way. She's a very fast and versatile Olympian. Here's some more about it: https://swimswam.com/olympic-medalist-alex-shackell-commits-to-indiana-university/ Edit: Interesting. She'll start at IU in spring of 2026. At that time, she'll train at both IU and Carmel. She'll continue to concentrate on international competitions. So is she going to compete for IU at all? This is odd. https://swimswam.com/alex-shackell-will-have-a-hybrid-schedule-at-indiana-continue-training-in-carmel/
  16. Fox is rescheduling it for maximum ratings. Stay tuned.
  17. Smokescreen, obviously. lol
  18. As posted above, IU wins the B1G Championship by a record margin. Some highlights: 3 B1G records in the 200 medley relay, 200 back (McDonald), 400 free relay 3 championship records in the 200 IM (McDonald), 100 breast (Brooks), 400 medley relay Won 11 events 1-2-3-4-5 finish in the 100 breast 1-2-3-4 finish in the 200 breast 1-2-4 in the 100 back Won every final heat in the 200 IM (A - 1st, B - 9th, C - 17th) 252 points from diving, even with Tyler having bit of an off meet McDonald won 3 individual events - 200 IM, 100 back, 200 back - top individual scorer (probably swimmer of the meet, not sure) Sarkany won 2 individual events - 500 free, 1650 free - tied for 2nd individual scoring 4th B1G championship in a row, 7th in 9 years McDonald's brother, Cooper, wasn't on the scoring roster but would've qualified for the 5th seed in the 500 free 'A' final if he was Everyone on IU's scoring roster scored at least 20 individual points IU will have 567 individual points returning (barring transfers), which is 2nd to Michigan IU's 200 IM was one of their stronger events (128 points), opposite of the women's team IU was the only team to score 100 or more points in an event. They did that in 5 events: 100 breast (138), 200 IM (128), 200 breast (126), 100 free (115), 100 back (100) IU wins: 200 medley relay 400 medley relay 400 free relay McDonald - 200 IM, 100 back, 200 back Sarkany - 500 free, 1650 free Brooks - 100 breast Matheny - 200 breast Henninger - 1m diving https://swimswam.com/indiana-men-win-4th-straight-big-10-title-with-largest-margin-of-victory-in-conference-history/ https://swimswam.com/2025-b1g-mens-swimming-and-diving-championship-box-score/ I'm pretty sure some, like Sarkany, weren't even fully rested so they should have even better times at the NCAAs. Edit: Owen McDonald does win Swimmer of the Championships. https://swimswam.com/owen-mcdonald-and-jordan-rzepka-win-mens-big-ten-championship-individual-honors/
  19. I'd say some of them were even better because of the experience. Sampson is one of those. He was already a good coach but he's even better after his time in the NBA. That may be due to him being an assistant coach instead of head coach, though. It gave him an opportunity to learn from guys like Popovich.
  20. This is true. The college GM position is also much different than an NBA GM role. I think UNC has the right idea by getting an agent to fill that role. It needs to be someone that can manage contracts as well as recruit. I think the role might also be raising money for NIL and/or trying to find NIL opportunities for the players. Someone with an agent background seems like a good fit.
  21. Yep, like competing for a National Championship good. Looking at the times, I think some of the guys weren't even fully rested for this meet. That makes sense if they had already secured NCAA invites because a double taper can be tricky.
  22. They have been in the past. And don't call me surely. Wait a second....
  23. It wouldn't surprise me if he thinks that squeaking into the tournament gives him the political capital to force Dolson to keep him or fire him. it also wouldn't be surprising to find out that he doesn't realize that the whole forced retirement thing was a way for him, Woodson, to save face. He'd be wrong, of course. He is not going to be IU's coach after this season regardless but Dolson went the route that let Woodson save face. All Dolson would have to do would be to say sorry, but we've already moved on and too many resources have already been put into the coaching search.
