  1. Sub-30% 3-point shooter. Checks out. Sign him up!
  2. Hopefully since Cuban is no longer an NBA owner he'll start to get more involved in the basketball teams. He has a ton of money, too, and actually knows basketball. I can't imagine he's enjoying Woodson as the coach.
  3. I hope they're left out. Both teams, but especially MSU. I want the B1G to be embarrassed by the number of teams they get in. Apparently, that's all they really care about since they haven't made any changes after the flameouts the past few years.
  4. Purdue lost. Houston lost (blown out). UNC looks like they're going to lose. Have that many 1 seeds not won their conference tournaments before? Great run by NC State.
  5. Going forward, the B1GT will be 15 teams so it will be possible to miss it. This year IU had a favorable schedule in a weak conference and still had to have a winning streak to get to 10 wins. They were also high in the luck factor by winning close games. So a lot went in their favor just to get those 10 wins. They lose Johnson, Walker, and Ware plus other loses are possible through transfer or going pro (Mgbako). It is very possible the team next year is less talented. So, yes, missing the conference tournament is a possibility.
  6. Didn't the B1G get only 1 team to the 2nd weekend last year? Or was that the year before? The B1G has been terrible in the tournament recently.
  7. I thought that firing Holtmann during the season showed OSU cared more about basketball than IU. Hiring Diebler shows me I was wrong, that's such an IU move. I'm happy they hired him.
  8. A blank check for Booker? lol On second thought, wasting a ton of money on a player like that would be a good way to ensure Woodson gets canned after (or during) next season.
  9. Cig is the only significant hire Dolson's made and he hasn't coached a game yet so how good of a hire it is is still in question. Sports IU is good at, their coaches, and hire date: Baseball: Jeff Mercer, 2018 (not Dolson) Swimming: Ray Looze, 2002 (not Dolson) Soccer: Todd Yeagley, 2010 (not Dolson) Women's Basketball: Teri Moren, 2014 (not Dolson) So for those other sports, it is more that he hasn't done anything to hinder them rather than making them good. He certainly isn't responsible for the coaching hires.
  10. Well, QuinnB(BOT)(Perfection75) (if that even is your real name), I think you meant to make this post from your primary account. Not a very QB thing to say. :)
  11. Moot if they don't fire him.
  12. I don't care about all the excuses, at the end of the day he's still the AD and in charge of hiring or firing coaches. He hired Woodson and probably isn't firing him. He is also responsible for the terrible extensions/raises for both Tom Allen and Woodson. Bring in a real AD who actually knows what he's doing and how to evaluate potential coaches. All Dolson knows is fund raising. When Woodson finally gets fired, Dolson should be shown the door along side him.
  13. My blame is 100% on Woodson, the coaching staff, and the AD.
  14. To me, that is a blowout. So they averaged getting blown out in 14 loses. That shows that the season was actually way worse than the W/L record (which we all know).
  15. That's an average over 14 loses. Considering that they had only 19 wins and many of those were close, I am pretty sure IU got outscored over the course of the season. Just checked. They did get outscored 2386 (182nd) to 2452 (288th). The stats are just as brutal as watching the team was.
  16. That makes it sound like a choice. More likely, "unable to fill" more than 1 scholarship next year.
  17. So a final way to f**k over IU by waiting too long to retire? Seems about right.
  18. What would be the point of that? Those bids are good for young teams in rebuild mode to get them extra tournament experience. Most of the young players on this team will be gone after this year and 1/2 the roster will be new. Plus, from a morale or image standpoint, avoiding another blowout loss would be better than playing another game or two. On top of that, it's likely that anyone thinking of going pro would sit out. So no Ware or MM, probably no Reneau (I think he'll test the waters).
  19. That will only delay the inevitable, assuming they win against those cupcakes and in convincing fashion (unlike this year).
  20. Maybe they're talking about the "right, left" chant. Of course, that is typical when a player fouls out so nothing surprising there for an ejection. Of all the things to bring up, that is an odd one. Unless it was IU fans who were doing the chanting but I don't think there's any way to know that at a neutral court.
  21. Yes, there's no rule or law requiring them to release a statement but it would be terrible from a PR standpoint to not do so. To not do it would make the AD look like he's out of touch with the fanbase or simply doesn't care about them. It would also make the unsaid statement that this basketball season was totally acceptable so they don't really care about basketball. Hostile fans would become more hostile from feeling totally ignored. Boosters who want him gone would also feel ignored. Those groups would start to include the AD in calls for being fired. The media would include in the negative articles how the AD doesn't even support the coach, isn't truly behind him. Coaching recruiting against Woodson would use that to make his job even harder. It would basically torpedo the program by refusing to do so. It wouldn't even have to be sincere but it has to be done. IU ADs have released these statements after bad basketball and especially bad football seasons when fans (and sometimes the media) want the HC fired. If you don't know that you must not have been around long or just not have paid attention.
  22. Even with those two, he still only won enough (23-12) to get a 4th seed and then get blown out in the second game of the NCAAT. They (as with every Woodson team so far) had a midseason swoon where they weren't playing well and losing a lot of games, including a 3 game losing streak. Woodson himself had no idea how to fix that, it took a players only meeting. The guy just can't coach.
  23. So when should we expect to officially know if Woodson will be the coach for another year or not? Monday? Tuesday? If they do keep him, I don't think an unnamed source "leaking" that he'll be back is sufficient. The AD will need to at very least release a statement of support and confidence in Woodson. Too much noise around firing him to try to ignore it.
  24. Then don't. Retire. Problem solved. Easy.
