It’s kind of stressful, but this is where I am. The program we love has been ruined under CAM and Woodson. It needs a hard re-set to return to a serious, contending program.

Oh I know that, my point is more about the player being recruited. Our concerns are really secondary. The players being recruited know we're in a complete team rebuild with a new coach, but it's still really unusual and will be an entirely different feel for the prospect to be recruited with no existing players.

That's good to hear, I know that UT insider was pretty much calling it a done deal for UT. Such an unusual visit here with no teammates, no one to show him around other than the coaches, who themselves are still learning about Bloomington and IU. Hope tot see DeVries knock it out of the park

I thought we'd heard Conwell might be following Sean Miller (and the majority of his staff) to UT. is that bad info, are we that confident Conwell is headed to IU?

100%. I think it’s clear we have a legit basketball mind now on the sidelines. Don’t know how his early recruiting/ portaling is going to go, or the first season, but I am fairly comfortable his team building and coaching will win people over as we move forward

Yeah I have no idea, haven’t followed him, but he has shown the scoring and shooting this season that a lot of NBA teams are looking for and the article indicates he’s also testing his draft outlook

My guess for some, like Malik, is it's just as much about their NIL package as how they fit. DeVries is team building. No one on this past season's roster (outside Ballo who graduated) deserved the high NIL percentage they had and undoubtedly want going into 2025-26 when DeVries is building the team. Some will do well elsewhere, and that's good - I hope Malik does great elsewhere - but overpaying them here made no sense.
